Eliza Bennett

Eliza Bennett-1-Design Crush

Today’s featured artist is definitely not for the faint of heart. Meet Eliza Bennett who used own skin to create an embroidered sculpture entitled A woman’s work is never done. But there is a point aside from the shock effect, Eliza aims to chronicle the effects of labor intensive work, while drawing attention to low paid jobs such as cleaning, caring, and catering, all of which are traditionally considered to be gender specific towards women through the piece.

This is disturbingly beautiful and moving. I will probably be digesting it all day. Art in its rawest form for sure.

Yes, disturbing. But so so so beautiful. This makes me think about the women overseas who work in clothing factories.

Wow. Just… wow. Probably the most provocative art I’ve seen in years. Amazing and disturbing and thought provoking. SOOOOO much better than the woman who knitted from wool insider her vagina.
