Ikebana Bowls + Soe Cups

Hanna Kruse-1-Design Crush

I don’t know much about the ways of Ikebana, but I do know a little about flower arranging. These ceramic and steel Ikebana Bowls by Hanna Kruse give you ability to beautifully accommodate large blooms with short stems. Hanna has also created a smaller vessel, Soe Cups, with the same thought that are able to accommodate flowers as well or other small objects.

Nicole Aquillano Ceramics

Nicole Aquillano Ceramics-1-Design Crush

Sometimes it sucks when the world feels small, and sometimes it’s amazing. I’d like to introduce you to the ceramic work of Nicole Aquillano, the younger sister of a girl I graduated high school with over a decade ago just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. I love that I can see the influence of our town in Nicole’s work and am swept away by her attention to detail. Much of her work is based on the stability of home and the human need to maintain collections, both of which I can definitely relate to. (It’s a small world after all.)

CeramicaBotanica

Ceramica Botanica-1-Design Crush

Susan Rodriguez’s CeramicaBotanica collection is everything you could want from someone with 20 years experience working with clay. Each piece is handmade by Susan in her San Antonio backyard studio using earthenware clay and colorful slips. Most are one of a kind, food safe, and made to be used in your kitchen on a daily basis. I love the bold patterns and use of color!
