Blik Headboards.

I moved into my house in July 08 and have yet to do a thing to my guest room other than inflate an air mattress. Does that even count? It’s not the biggest of spaces – roughly 10×12 – and just thinking about how to decorate it exhausts me. I want it to be comfortable without being crammed and my biggest conundrum is the bed itself. As in how in the world am I going to fit one in there with any other piece of furniture?!

But now I think I’ve found a solution, and I wasn’t even looking. Isn’t that how the best things happen? Check out Blik’s new headboard decals. There are five designs and a boatload of color options. I’m really digging the wrought iron in charcoal best, but you can check them all out here.

‘Tini Tables.

There’s a corner in my living room where my favorite chair and hassock sits. No side table works. At all. Currently there’s a small, folding bar table in place but it just feels off somehow. And then I saw these ‘Tini Tables and all of the beautiful forms and finishes they’re available in. But what I really saw was perfection. I also appreciate the play on words: ‘Tini hints at martini, get it? {via coco + kelley}

The China Cabinet Project.

Here’s the back story of my cabinet.

This small china cabinet sat in my grandparents’ basement for a good 40 years before I got my hands on it. How it got there is another story: my dad found it waiting to be picked up by the garbage truck in front of a neighbor’s house. He used it to display his model collection (so cute!) for a few years before it was relegated to the depths of the basement. There it languished and accumulated old carpeting tools and other bits and pieces. And a ream of old typing paper, which is what I remember it most for.

A few years ago I was living in Cleveland and getting ready to move to Oklahoma City. I asked my grandma about the old cabinet in the basement and if she wanted it any longer. My dad drove it up to my apartment in the back of his pick-up and it was mine. And it sat in a garage for almost three years.

I knew something needed to be done to make it presentable (the years in the basement hadn’t been kind), but didn’t think the wood would stand up to refinishing. So painting it was. And glossy black it became. It now houses the majority of my barware collection. I love how the stainless steel pops against the black!

Mademoiselle Rocking Chair.

One of my best memories of being little is my rocking chair. My grandmother bought it for my mom when she had me. She nursed me in, rocked me when I was sick, and later it was a home for my stuffed animal collection. I’m head over heels for the Mademoiselle Rocking Chair. The lack of arms might not be the most ideal for functionality, but wow, it sure is gorgeous!

Mechano Chairs.

Love how “some assembly required” these Mechano chairs look. I want the bright yellow ones in my kitchen so badly.

the mechano chair was more than likely infuenced by the popular british toy with a similar name. made of durable powder coated steel, the chair is available in colorful blue, red, white, or yellow. we could easily see these for use in cafes or as an accent piece.

Taka Trunk.

Steamer trunks carry an old-fashioned coolness about them that never seems to get old. Add a few drawers and cool storage compartments like this Taka Trunk and you have an incredibly functional piece of furniture that becomes timeless.

Bistro Tables.

I want a Bistro Table. And I want to set it in my entry way as a mini bar! (I don’t care whether it’s the double top or the rolling either.) How swell would it be to have a guest show up at your home, walk in the door and you offer them a cocktail? Super swell I’m thinking.
