    1. I would wake up to a glowing morning on the beach patio with some tea with honey. Enjoy a finger brunch meal with some close friends/family. Then walk off the patio to dip into the ocean and dry off, repeating that throughout the day with some breaks to walk and explore the beach. Another break to eat lunch and read novel. Probably end the day by watching the moon rise and sun set as I practice guitar chords. It would be lovely.

    1. start with breakfast of fresh fruit salad (lots of honey dew) outside under a big shady tree and after laying down and staring up at the sky for a while, i would make my way to the beach.. after a dip i would lie on the sand with a big hat over my face and half fall asleep / half eavesdrop on all the conversations around me!

I just had one a few weeks ago… A relatively empty beach; a light, delicious lunch and lazing on the sand while talking to a good friend. 🙂

the perfect beach day is hot hot with a nice breeze from the sea (smells a bit salty), sand that is soft and warm but not hot, a big blanket, and someone to help me put sunscreen on my easily-burnt fair skin! :]
and food helps– the only time I crave beer!

We just got back from the best beach vacation.

    Northern California:
Hiking in the redwoods to a waterfall that cascades onto a secluded beach. A combination of two of the most powerful and awe-inspiring creations on earth with the breadth and the height juxtaposed.

Go on a less crowded weekday. Pack a cooler with ice water, fruit salad and sandwiches. Bring a blanket, a book, and sunscreen.

Pick a quiet spot to lay back and get lost in a light hearted novel while listening to the waves crash on the sand.

After lunch- walk along the water's edge and collect seaglass and shells.

Write your name in the sand.

Stay until the sun starts to set.

    Aaaahhhhh…..

I went to College of Charleston in Charleston SC so I was lucky enough to have lots of amazing beach days. The best always started out piling into someone's car, with the windows down and music up loud enough that we couldn't hear how off-key we all sang. A trip to Sonic later, we'd find our favorite spot on Sullivan's Island where it was deserted enough to not worry about what we looked like in swimsuits. My sister always fussed because no one would get in the water with her and I always got sunburned an hour before everyone else, but as long as we got margaritas and chips&salsa from Santi's on the way home, everyone was happy 🙂

Warm, WARM weather is essential. I prefer California beaches, so I'd have to be there! Wardrobe: Vintage sunglasses, a bright-colored swimsuit, and a big sun hat. Sunscreen too, because I burn easily. Chilled white wine, a trashy romance novel, and boyfriend in hand. A good attitude, a relaxed demeanor, and a grateful heart… Equal the PERFECT BEACH DAY!

    Kelly,

I love your site!! It's a new discovery for me (thanks to Erin Vale's blog) and I am really enjoying it…

My perfect day at the beach would actually be a day by myself. I am not married, so I'm sure that will change if I get someone special in my life, but for now… a day in the sun, on a comfortable lounge chair, with tanning oil and a Mountain Dew at my side 🙂 I could sit poolside or beachside for hours, with nothing but silence as my companion. I LOOOOOOOOVE the beach!!

My perfect beach day has already started to become a reality. It began with me moving back to the Midwest… Back to Upper Michigan this summer.

Now that I'm here… it would be like this: loading my 2 dogs and hubby into the car… picking up Togos Subs, then picking up my 4 year old niece… Heading to Lake Superior to play, make sand castles, sort through rocks and find agates, and jump in the water when we're feeling brave! (Lake Superior is frickin cold!)

Oh wait… that all happened yesterday!

Lately, I love my life. 🙂

My perfect beach day firstly would start off it the woods, camping . . . so breakfast of hot apple cider, with toast cooked on the grill, fruit, and probably some blueberry pancakes. Then my fiance and I would head to the riverside beach – much more calming and relaxing than the ocean beach. Love the sound of water slipping over rocks and logs. Then relaxing with a good book, my sunglasses and a glass of wine. I could stay there all day.

My favorite beach day would be a day in Hatteras Island, North Carolina.

The sun would be shining and the water would be warm – I'd be relaxing with my friends and family with no set schedule, simply enjoying eachother's company and the beauty of the ocean.

I'd have a nice variety of magazines to browse through while not relaxing in the ocean, and a simple, yet beautiful kite to fly around.

morning : breakfast by the sea, on the sand, in a white rustic furniture, pancakes are best, served with cold milk and cereal, a lime juice would be nice..

mid-morning : build a sand castle, bake a tan, read a book, walk the dog, frisbee tossing, well, no water activity included yet.

noon : splashing around, playing with all things salt water. 🙂

Lunch : seafood is the best, a pineapple fried rice is a nice addition. this time I prefer to eat under the shade..

Afternoon : another splashing around follow by a more quiet time, another sandcastle maybe, picking up sea shells as souvenirs…and of course packing up your things ready to go home.

Dinner : anything fast and edible on our way home.

    The end.

    i recently had one!!
it started with an early morning breakfast of a frittata, grits and fruit. after a little digestion, i turned on exercise t.v. and did my favorite yoga practice. ahhh. then, it's suiting up (sunscreen first!) and heading out to the beach, propping the umbrella up and thumbing through a good magazine. can't get much better!

My perfect beach day would begin by waking up to see the sunrise on the beach with my honey. The morning would progress with a lovely book, building some sand castles, eating lunch at a beachside restaurant, and having a rum runner (yes, I know it would be only noon by then!). The rest of the afternoon would be spent reading, having more frozen drinks, and napping with my honey! If I am really feeling daring, I would head to the waves and attempt boogy boarding! The remainder of the day would be spent relaxing. *sigh* Only if I could do this now!

The perfect beach day – packing a knapsack filled with fruit and riding my bike to the farthest reaches of society. Beach days for me are solitary events, so I'd bring a tattered favorite book, a big hat, and an ipod playlist filled with paul simon and iron and wine – the perfect summer relaxing music.
