31 Bits

Consumerism that gives back and makes you feel good? Yes! Kallie Dovel founded 31 Bits after a visit to Uganda when she was inspired to help talented women market their jewelry. She brought three friends on board to help and they began purchasing goods from six women every month. Now they’re up to 99 women and a fantastic online marketplace full of beaded jewelry that’s made from recycled paper. You can read more about what they’re doing in Uganda right here. Beautiful pieces for a beautiful cause.

I adore recycled paper beads from Uganda. I received a necklace last Christmas that has become one of my go-to pieces. It’s also a great conversation starter! ~Heidi

One of my best friends and her husband are currently living in Gulu, Uganda for a year working for 31 Bits. It is truly an incredible company and they are focused on helping the women financially, spiritually, and really in any other way possible in order to have the most positive impact on their lives, as well as their families. I usually sport some kind of Bits everyday and always get compliments on them, a great way to spread the word about a great cause! Love love LOVE that you featured them on here. -Carolyn, Seattle, WA
