1979.

Fine, I’ll play along with the latest flickr madness. You can, too. Just do a search for the year you were born and see what shows up!

I couldn’t choose just one.

Go for the Gold.

I couldn’t be any more excited about the Olympics if I tried. (Actually, I don’t even have to try.) The next few weeks of my life will revolve around watching television and, dammit, I’m not ashamed to admit it!

Dog Days of Summer.

Oklahoma gets freakin’ H-O-T in the summer.

Example #1
When I moved here in 1998 to attend college we had 100º days well into October. Back in Pennsylvania where’d I’d moved from it was already jacket weather. Talk about a shock to the system…

Example #2
OK usually hits its temperature peak from mid-July through mid-September. To affirm this, the mercury has popped up into the triple-digits for the past two days and is predicted to hit 102º this weekend. Fan-freakin-tastic. (RE: I hate it) It’s literally too hot to be outside.

Wishin’ And Hopin’.

I wish this were me for two reasons.

1. It’s 100º here today. And while that’s extremely hot (and icky) it seems like a phenomenal day to scorch myself on the beach.

2. I’d have this smokin’ hot bod.

Loading.

I am having some major draggage issues today. After having Monday and Tuesday off (but really working harder those days than when I’m at the office) I’m struggling to get back into the swing of life. And then just when I somehow manage to it will be the weekend. So really, how much effort should I be putting into this??

Big Smile. Big Thanks.

If I could smile and show this many teeth right now (and not look like I wanted to eat you) I would. Thank you so, so much for all of your congratulations and good wishes! It really does mean the world to me.

Dog Days.

This is what I’ve felt like doing ever since waking up this morning! It’s just one of them days. But at least my legs aren’t that hairy…

:: photo via ? (I’m horrible, I know.)

Oh, Audrey.

Everyone has that go to person when they need a little extra something, a little inspiration. And I’m not talking work inspiration. I’m talking life inspiration.

For that, for me, I turn to Miss Audrey Hepburn. If you want an example of style, class, dignity and grace she’s your lady. In fact, she’s the epitome of a lady. A lady who’s been through a lot and has come out the other side all the better for it.

I’d like to imagine that if Audrey and I were gal pals we’d be the sort of pair who would do things like go somewhere for afternoon tea or maybe we’d “lunch” – of course that would have to take place when we weren’t weekending at the lake or going to our book club meetings.

Who’s your go to inspirational figure?

Put ‘Em Up.

I’ve had this image filed away for months now and every time I chance by it a grin shows up on my face. Their heads are so big and the cub on the left is so oblivious!

Lovely Rain.

It’s the most lovely shade of overcast here this afternoon and looks like it’s about 9:00 at night. If the skies are telling the truth then a bit more rain is in store for us. The forecast is for rain off an on all week which actually makes me happy. I feel more productive when it’s raining because I can’t dream about being outside doing other things!
