Win It: Ariat Boots

Two ironic things about this giveaway starting today:
1. I’ve lived in Oklahoma off and on since 1998, yet never owned a pair of cowboy boots until a few months ago.
2. This is the first day I’ve not lived in Oklahoma in five years. (I’m in New York.)

Those two things being revealed, I’m extremely excited to partner with a bit of an Oklahoma institution, Langston’s! They’re basically the go-to for pearl snap shirts and tight fitting Wranglers, but they also have lots of other non-Western wear and great jewelry. Today they’re giving away one pair of men’s or women’s Ariat boots, I have these and love them. You can never go wrong with a pair of boots and a little casual dress is my book, perfect weekend wear.

To Enter:
1. Leave a comment below telling us which pair of Ariat boots are your favorite. One comment only, please.
2. Enter a valid email address.
3. Do it all before next Monday, October 31st.

Langston’s is also offering 15% off any purchase over $50 through October 30th, just enter the code “crushed” into the promo field.

Marais USA Espadrille Wedges

Do you ever find that perfect meant-to-be piece for your seasonal wardrobe that you can’t get out of your mind? These Marais USA Espadrille Wedges embody summer and I can’t stop thinking about the tomato red pair above. Without the wedge they’d be acceptable, without the delicate ankle strap maybe okay. But everything together is screaming JEANS! SKIRTS! SUNDRESSES! at me. On second thought, maybe I need to be more concerned about shoes talking to me than acquiring these.

Summer Wedding Wardrobe

The wedding season is almost upon us, and I have three very different weddings to attend this summer. I already purchased this dress for the first in May, but still need to get my wardrobe up to speed for the others. Here’s just a little about the events and the sort of look I’m going to attempt for each one. Do you have a go-to outfit for nuptials?

The first a late morning event, followed by a low-key reception and after-party.
Dress: Mondrian Print Dress, Calypso St. Barth
Shoes: Bonneville Wedges, Anthropologie

The second in the evening, held at an upscale location full of pomp and circumstance.
Dress: Oversize Sequin Shift Dress, ASOS (check out the back!)
Shoes: Two-Tone Sequin Pump, BCBG/Max Azria

And the third, a ceremony that remains shrouded in mystery.
Dress: Camilla silk-crepe dress, Temperley London
Shoes: Marguertie, Nine West

Let’s Talk Birthdays. And Parties.

{via ffffound}

As in mine is right around the corner, this Thursday as a matter of fact. (My birthday, not my party.) And while I’m not much for extravagant celebrations centered around myself, who doesn’t love the idea of their special day being just that… special. I’m thinking my ideal par-tay might go a little something like this.

I’d definitely need a gorgeous dress (Or two. Or three.). Wardrobe changes are sooo in right now.  Left to right: 3.1 Philip Lim handmade sequined silk dress, alice + olivia dress with organza skirt, Zucca accordion pleat lace detail dress

And of course no party ensemble would be complete without a bit of baubly bling. Left to right: limitless strand necklace + sera petal posts, scintilla triple strand + minted leaf earrings, beaded swag bib necklace + weimar earrings

And although I’ll probably end up barefoot by the end (all good parties end sans shoes), I probably shouldn’t start out that way. Left to right: Clara’s slipper flats, first-glow peep toes, eyelet platforms

Confetti System would of course be in charge of decorating every nook and cranny with sparkly awesomeness.

Shiny happy dinnerware would definitely be in order because we’d have to stop and eat at some point…

… you know, to soak up some of the alcohol. Left to right: brandy milk punch, ginger & lemon beer, hot chambord cider

And there would be lots and lots of cake, more than even I could handle, decorated with these banners.

You’re invited, think you can clear your schedule?

No. 144 Shoe Clips.

When I first saw these shoe clips from No. 144 I was immediately reminded of a similar thing my mom had when I was a kid. Clip on shoe accessories that breathed a bit of new life into a pair of heels she’d tired of or to match a certain outfit for a special occasion. I wonder why they’ve never been more popular when there’s the chance to make one pair of simple shoes look like ten. Love the bright colors! {via SeeSaw Designs}

Let’s Go Camping.

{via ffffound}

Happy first day of Fall! In celebration of my favorite season, we’ll be celebrating all day long. First up is my idea of camping. I’m not exactly an outdoorsy sorta gal, so I much prefer it when a cabin is involved instead of a tent. (I’d also prefer not having to dig a hole in order to use the “facilities”, but that’s another story.)

Clockwise from top left: Credit Card Survival Tool, Oval hurricane, Aluminum Mess Kit, Sleeping Bag, Tarpaulin Dry Dopp Kit, Felt Duffel Bag, Avoca Earthtones Lambswool Throw, Ghost Stories

Clockwise from top left: twin-button cardigan, roasting sticks, Zagg eyeglasses, Celia Over the Knee boots, Coleman Steel-Belted Cooler, Isabella Marie Beanie
