BERGSBO Cabinet.
Alright, is it just me or is IKEA really hitting a lot of things outta the park this spring? Case in point: the BERGSBO cabinet. I’d love to have one of these to display all of my barware. Heck, it could even be a little cabinet bar if you stash all of your glasses and liquor bottles inside. Just open the doors and voila! Instant party.

April 28, 2008 at 5:44 pmWe bought this bookcase this past Saturday, in red. Yesterday my husband spent over a couple of hours putting it together, getting to the last step, putting the doors on — and the holes drilled into the door where the hinge attaches aren’t properly aligned with the hinge included… I don’t know if there’s a different hinge which is needed… We are hoping they have some other solution other than returning the whole unit. After all the time spent putting it together. My husband is going to stop by today and have a look at the model on the floor, see if he can figure out what’s going on. He may have to use a router to drill new holes.

April 29, 2008 at 3:39 pmFollow up on my comment above, my husband did manage to get the doors in place — by plugging the existing holes and drilling new ones, which necessitated buying a different type of screw. For someone who doesn’t have some carpentry knowledge, skills, I’d recommend checking the alignment, fit, of the hinges to the holes pre-drilled for them, before starting to put the piece together. Now that it’s together, though, it looks very nice.
By the way, I’m glad I found this blog, I love it, so much great stuff here. If I ever change careers, I’d love to be able to do something in the design field.

December 2, 2008 at 8:00 amI’m considering this bookcase in white. I’m wondering what type of presence it will have in my studio apartment. I’m filling it up with books.

June 10, 2010 at 1:23 amWe have the beautiful red unit waiting to be put together. All is laid out and I'm sorry to say I can't figure it out. The pictures of skinny little boards of course don't match anything and I'm not sure what boards they are talking about. I feel like a dope, but I hope some of you who have already put this unit together will please explain Steps 1,2 and 3 to me.
