Solar-Powered Walkway Lights.
I’ve been pricing solar-powered walkway lights since finding out the house was mine. My walkway isn’t all that long so I didn’t need the ten and twelve packs most places were selling. Then yesterday I found a set of six stainless solar-powered beveled wedge lights for an absolute steal of a price. At Target of course.
Does anyone have solar outdoor lights? What’s been your experience with them so far?

June 16, 2008 at 6:57 pmWe just got a set of 6 solar light for our house. They are in our back yard….that was just too dark for our little puppy to find where to go.
They work great. The yard is part shade during the day but they still give off good light. I like that you can place them any where you want…and then change it up if you need to move them for a different purpose.

June 17, 2008 at 12:06 amI prefer the ones with the brightest white bulbs because they give off the most light. Make sure the foliage yo plant around wherever you put them is low growing — I have two sitting amidst the ferns and when they grow the lights become pretty invisible!

June 17, 2008 at 3:13 pmMy family has used lights like these for at least 5 years, and they still work great. Sometimes (especially in the winter with the lack of sun) not every light is fully charged by the time it gets dark. But not a big deal. Also, our lights are very blue-ish, which takes a bit t0 get used to after all the lovely yellowy-white lights. Although, I would bet the newer lights today are not so garish-looking anymore.

June 19, 2008 at 3:57 amI guess they are a lot easier to hook up, but there’s something about them I just don’t like. We’ve had them for YEARS in our family and I find that the lighting is so low, I may as well not have them at all! I keep buying new ones in hopes that they’ll be improved, but they never are.
So… I suppose it just depends on how much light you need. 🙂
