Dog Days of Summer.

Oklahoma gets freakin’ H-O-T in the summer.

Example #1
When I moved here in 1998 to attend college we had 100º days well into October. Back in Pennsylvania where’d I’d moved from it was already jacket weather. Talk about a shock to the system…

Example #2
OK usually hits its temperature peak from mid-July through mid-September. To affirm this, the mercury has popped up into the triple-digits for the past two days and is predicted to hit 102º this weekend. Fan-freakin-tastic. (RE: I hate it) It’s literally too hot to be outside.

I’m sorry…it’s always like that here too. Instead of winter where it’s too cold to do anything we have scorching summers where it’s just too hot to be outside.

Arizona gets up to 115! But there’s no humidity here, so its bearable. Sometimes when you walk outside in Phoenix, the heat literally sucks the breath out of your lungs. I grew up in Missouri and I remember the sweaty, muggy nights of summer. Humid heat is way worse.

True that. Humid is worse. I am from AZ also, and I am living in Ut right now. It will be like 90 degrees outside and everyone will be wining…puh-lease. try 120 on for size:) It’s hot, but at least you don’t break a sweat just walking 10 feet to you car. Anything 100 or higher is “complain worthy” in my book.

Last summer about this time I remember it being over 100 for weeks at a time, because our office air conditioners didn’t keep up and we worked in 85 degree heat. Which doesn’t sound so bad except heat + desk job = wanting to nap BADLY. But for some reason, this year has been pretty good. I don’t know exact temps (because I don’t watch the weather in any capacity) but I’ve spent almost every lunch break outside this year.

    I live in KY, FWIW

I totally agree; summers in Oklahoma can suck! I’m convinced that the only way to beat it is that we should all conduct business poolside.
