I didn’t this year. The deals had been so good pre-Black Friday that I had most of my shopping done. I decided that my sleep was worth more than saving 2 or 3 bucks.
In high school my friends and I were brave enough and had the patience but it’s been it’s 14 years and I’ve stayed away. The cold, the early hours and the potential to be trampled…no thanks. Even during one holiday season when I was unemployed the sales have never been that enticing. I actually volunteer to work. I know, sounds crazy but my company is open the day after thanksgiving. My husband and I don’t have kids and don’t travel for the holiday. Everyone in my office wants the day off and at least one person has to be in. Its so quiet I get a ton of work done and online shopping!
