Merit Badges

I never did the Girl Scout thing, but I remember how satisfying it felt to get a sticker on my homework or a gold star on my chore chart for a job well done. There’s something to be said about positive reinforcement, and I doubt it’s only me thinking adulthood really isn’t all that easy. Check out these merit badges from Disorderly Goods, twelve embroidered badges for things like “using your powers for good, not evil” and “giving a shit”. Super smart.

I really like these. They’re way better than the ones we got in Girl Scouts. Oddly, I just came across a very different set of merit badges on a friend’s blog today (Little White Whale). These are a bit less serious than the ones you have here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/leemeszaros
I may need a set of each: one for positive reinforcement and one for laughs.

Yes, I’ve seen that set as well! Seems like we’re witnessing a little bit of a trend.

love this idea! being an adult is pretty freakin’ hard sometimes (I’m still not sure I’m doing so great…). I was a girl scout but didn’t get too many badges… I could use some for self esteem purposes asap.
