The Flavour Thesaurus

I can’t lie, what first drew me to The Flavour Thesaurus was the graphic cover. But after reading a few reviews on Niki Segnit’s book I was drawn towards the concept, which examines foods by flavor. Segnit teaches you about pairing flavors, what to do with that extra whatever you have lying around, and basically how to become your own on-the-fly chef. It’s also really well organized, set up along the format of Roget’s College Thesaurus. (Which, FYI, I won a copy of in the 5th grade Spelling Bee.)

If you get it, you need to get the British version. The American cover is dull. I ordered it a few weeks ago and have been LOVING it. All I want to do is spend all day experimenting in my kitchen.

I’m going to have to take a look at this. I love the Flavor Bible. This might be too close to warrant a purchase.
