Win It: CSN Lighting.
I’m really jazzed about this week’s giveaway from CSN Lighting! I can hardly stand it because one of you have the chance to win this insanely awesome post-modern George Kovacs Grid Pendant.
For nearly half a century, George Kovacs’ name has been synonymous with 20th century contemporary lighting design. His skill resided in his ability to fuse clean, beautiful lines with abstract form, creating unique products that were both modern and classic. George Kovacs was the innovator responsible for the birth of this unique style, a style that changed the course of industrial lighting design in America.
For many years, George Kovacs designed and manufactured his products from his own Brooklyn-based facility but in 2000 he sold his studio, designs and naming rights to lighting manufacturer the Minka Group. He was truly a legend whose work stands as a testament to his genius; his ceiling lights, table lamps, and floor lamps are all timeless pieces that remain true inspiration to contemporary designers.
To Enter:
1. Tell me what area of your home needs a little light brought into it
2. Leave a valid email address where you can be contacted (those who do not will be disqualified)
3. Do it all before Monday, July 13th at noon CST
Good luck! And take a look around CSN’s site because they have a huge selection… I’m eyeing this and this!

July 6, 2009 at 3:59 pmIt's cliche, but the dining room. The old home depot ghetto lamp doesnt hold a candle to that piece of art. fortejonelle@hotmail.com

July 6, 2009 at 5:31 pmI just bought my first house, and the kitchen needs some serious work. A wood ceiling? No, thanks.
This light would be the jumping-off point for a redesign.

July 6, 2009 at 5:34 pmMy partner and I bought a foreclosed house last summer and have been working on it since then. After doing everything from completely re-wiring the whole house to propping the roof up to tear the gross, rotten porch off and put a new one on, and only hiring out the plubming, we are finally getting close to the end, which means picking out light fixtures! We've been stymied by the "everything we like costs more than we could imagine ever spending on a piece of furniture" problem. So, I'm not sure where this beauty would go, probably the front entry-way, but possibly the dining room, or the kitchen.

July 6, 2009 at 6:31 pmOMG! that is gorgeous. I would love it for my living room/dining room. Right now I have two of those IKEA floor lamps that cost $10. I have been wanting to get new lighting for the longest time to jazz up my place but i hadnt seen anything like this. I'm in love

July 6, 2009 at 6:56 pmThis would be a great addition to my desk area. I say area cause I don't have a separate room for it, my poor little desk is in my bedroom.
I think this light would spotlight my desk to visually divide the room up.

July 6, 2009 at 7:16 pmOh, that light would go perfectly in my kitchen, where I can't ever seem to get enough light. We just redid the room, painting the cabinets white and the walls a dark grey to go with the weird blue countertops… but somehow lighting was forgotten in all the changes. This would be PERFECT!!!

We recently had our roommate move out and now we are in the process of turning the extra room into an inviting place to work and visit.

July 7, 2009 at 4:22 amLiving in an ultra mod apartment definitely has its perks. One of them being the awesome Arizona sunlight that comes in the floor to ceiling windows during the day. That said, this particularly apartment is lacking adequate lighting during the evening. This would look great in my boyfriend's office where he's always straining to see!

July 7, 2009 at 6:53 amLet's talk about perfect timing; in the last 24 hours half the lights in my apartment have burned out!
This morning my front hall light burnt out. This afternoon my kitchen florescent went out, so I went to flip on the living room for some light and it was out as well.
I was standing in the dark, thinking that I not only needed to go light bulb shopping, but that I could really use a fixture above the bar separating my living room and kitchen.
This fixture is not only beautiful, but would be the perfect thing to tie my modern black and chrome decorated living room into the kitchen.
I love it!

July 7, 2009 at 2:03 pmI have been needing new lights over my kitchen range. Why? Because I had a fire that melted the two custom halogen fixtures over the stand-alone range (the oven is in the wall). I had to replace more than I wanted to and still have not replaced the lighting because I haven't found anything I can A) Afford and B)Actually liked. Until now. To wit, I have taken to trying to get my meals cooked when it is still light! Thank goodness for the Winter Solstice!

July 7, 2009 at 3:48 pmThis is sort of pathedic… but we don't have an overhead light in our living room! When we moved into our apartment 3 years ago, there was not one there. We got a couple of floor lamps, but nver committed to a ceiling light. This would be totally perfect. I love the design.

July 8, 2009 at 9:37 pmThe dark, windowless middle room of my railroad apartment currently boasts a boob-shaped bubble light. It's pretty depressing. This would be much, much better.

July 8, 2009 at 11:53 pmso shiny! i'd definitely put it in my bedroom, which is sadly windowless (ohhh first apartment out of college) and in need of some interesting lighting beyond the trusty target lamp.

July 9, 2009 at 9:46 pmI would *love* to have this in my living room. Our room is very open and we have no great place to put any tables with lamps so I've been trying to find a great hanging/pendant lamp for one of the corners – this is perfect! And it's hot.
