Win It: Design In a Bag.
Design In a Bag is a seriously good idea that works by introducing you to collections of professionally coordinated kitchen and bath design recipes. It’s like you’re getting an interior designer’s expertise without the high price. Browse online galleries of coordinated kitchen and bath looks, each carefully designed and crafted by Rebekah Zaveloff. After picking your favorite concept (or two, or three) into the mail it goes! Complete concepts include cabinet, countertop, tile and paint samples, shopping list and hand-drawn renderings. Once they show up at your door you can sit down with a glass of wine, feel the materials, and picture your redesigned room before taking action.
This week one of you has the chance to win the concept of your choice and get crackin’ on that room that screams ugly.

August 30, 2010 at 5:51 pmI know it sounds cliche, but my kitchen needs the most help. The poor dear is stuck in "model home hell." I relate it to being attacked by doilies and wax fruit. It's downright unappetizing. I crave modern simplicity without fuss, flourish or fruited tile!
Thanks!

August 30, 2010 at 6:58 pmWhat a fantastic giveaway! Well, let's see… I suppose the obvious choice at the moment would be to nominate my kitchen, which has yet to be repaired since my bathroom pipe leaked through the ceiling last week. However, since that's hardly a design challenge (more like carpentry disaster), I'd have to vote on my dining room. It's been almost two years since we moved in and I've yet to buy a chandelier, dining room chairs, window treatments, or any wall decor. I have a good idea of what I want, but so many questions re: color, fabrics, how to make the adjoining kitchen and living room transition seamlessly.
Oh, and since I've just written a book on my woe-is-me situation, I'll now sign off so that others can participate. Here's my email;)

August 30, 2010 at 8:04 pmOH MY GOODNESS!! We just bought our first house and I am in the process of designing the whole house!! I think the room that needs the most TLC would be the kitchen! I LOVE TO COOK and with being connected to the family room, I want it to flow with the decor! I love the idea of this! It make coordinating looks a lot easier!

August 30, 2010 at 10:07 pmI need a full home makeover because we are moving in October from Atlanta to Baltimore and may end up having to renovate the bathroom and kitchen. I am in dire need of a few new ideas to keep my home bright and vibrant through that winter months because I work from home. (I don't want to get depressed because ATL is sunny year round).

August 30, 2010 at 10:54 pmWhat a great idea! I'm always in need of a little design inspiration. August 30, 2010 at 11:44 pmThe kitchen! Oh, the kitchen. The husband and I live in a "pre-war" NYC building, built in 1928. Original cabinets, flooring and a range installed in the 50's are crying for replacement. Mini updates have been done throughout the years, mainly to rectify a sudden or pending disaster, but the time has come to gut the room and begin anew.

September 1, 2010 at 2:05 pmOur kitchen is in desperate need of some loving! The wall color was supposed to be sage green but is oh so much more sad, hospital green. When we painted the cabinets, we used the wrong type of white paint and now it is chiping terribly. The trim is all cream colored which drives me bananas against the white. Oh dear do we need some help!

September 1, 2010 at 2:12 pmMy kitchen. Built in 1974, never updated, brown. And not the pretty brown. And it's really not very functional. Although, my vent hood does explain how to properly cook weiners. When we bought the house 4 years ago, it was priority one. Then everything else fell apart and it hit the bottom of the list. Some day…

September 1, 2010 at 3:01 pmWe're in a rental, so we can't do much about our embarrassing basement. It's unfinished, but since the footprint of our house is so small (500 sq ft upstairs), we use it all.
Yup.
Our office is in the creepy unfinished part. So is my "studio", our "garage", our "laundry room" and our "work out room". We just need to move.
Love this design in a bag! If I were a homeowner, I'd TOTALLY need a million of these.
