Happy Weekend.
I’m thrilled that it’s the weekend. I know I had a day and half off this week, but I was sick so those clearly don’t count! I plan on spending some time (okay, a lot of time) catching up on things from the past week or so that have gone neglected. And I also plan on resting a lot since I’m still really tired.
Rest and relaxation generally involve reading for me, but I haven’t come across anything worthwhile recently. Any books I need to know about and grab up asap?
Happy weekend!

April 11, 2008 at 8:36 pmi’m reading “Pillars of the Earth” by Ken Follett right now and am loving it… all 900+ pages of it! Also, just read “Shattered Dreams” in my bookclub and it was disturbingly fascinating – a woman’s memoir about her time spent as a polygamist mormon. Such a riveting read because her life was just so different from anything I’ve experienced.

My friend Alicia just asked the same question and got over 200 responses – a great list of books to choose from!

April 14, 2008 at 12:25 amWhat a great photo for this post, and what a great design for your blog 🙂
I won’t pretend that I’m some great reader…but I’m trying to go through the children’s classic The Chronicles of Narnia right now. There’s magic in those books 🙂

April 15, 2008 at 4:35 amI love this picture. It embodies everything I wish to do with a free weekend. A book I recently read and loved was Eat Pray Love but Elizabeth Gilbert. I don’t often read NYT best sellers. But I’m an English major and needing a break from the likes of Dafoe and Joyce, I decided to give it a go. After reading it, I was dead set on meeting the author and insisting on us being best friends. If you haven’t already read it, consider doing so
