I really, really liked Jon Klassen and his portfolio site, burst of beaden…
but then I found out he worked on visual development and set drawings for Coraline.
I love the clean lines and insanely high ceilings in this kitchen. The flat-fronted cabinetry is clean and modern. But what strikes me the most, of course, is that scene-stealing metal and glass framed door leading out to the balcony. The entire structure is so delicate and strong in appearance that one almost doesn’t even notice the door. And when you do it’s like a slap in the face because it’s just that great. And that molding around the frame? Stunningly unexpected.

Posted In recipesAll of the masking tape from etsy shop nothingelegant is rocking my world. I’m loving this image of all the solid color stacked rolls, but check out the shop for some insanely cool patterned tapes as well!
Posted In officeThis flickr set – quotes/citations – from hulk4598 is amazing. So graphic with color in just the right spots. They absolutely need to be turned into prints!

Shrimp is a very summery food to me. It’s both light and easy to make, given the right recipe. I hope you enjoy Shrimp Week!
The first time I had coconut shrimp was during my 21st birthday dinner with my parents. We were at a fairly upscale restaurant and they were skewered as a appetizer. And I proceeded to let one fly across the table as I tried to dislodge it from the skewer. In front of everyone. Awesome. Can’t wait to try out these Coconut Shrimp with Apricot Sweet Chili Dipping Sauce – sans skewers!
