Win It: seventy & sunny.

I’ve been a teeny tiny bit obsessed with calling cards for the past few months, so I’m really excited about Win It: seventy & sunny! The oh-so-lovely Alyson from seventy & sunny (as well as the awesome blog unruly.things!) will give the winner a custom designed set of 25 calling cards.

So how do you win, you ask? Leave a comment telling me what illustrated item you’d love to have on your set of calling cards and why. Alyson’s the crafty type, so it can be pretty much anything! You have until this Friday, August 1st at 12:00 pm CST to enter. (U.S. residents only for this one, folks.) Once the doors close I’ll randomly pick a winner. May the force be with you!

I just graduated from law school (and am taking the bar tomorrow), so I would love a calling card. Especially because I am moving to a city where I don’t know anyone, something less traditional than the regular business cards would be wonderful!

I have just mightly crushed and defeated the archnemsis which is called undergraduate education! Now I venture forth with a website as my shield, my creations as my sword, and now I need a banner to announce my approach as I smash forward towards conquering the dragons of post-college life!

While an actual banner in purple and pink would be a bit impratical in the back of a Camry, I think a palm-sized calling card could be a nice substitute. It is more subtle, but maybe I’ll get in the good graces of the citizens of the world and win via subtle grace and sophistication as opposed to force.

I think something which plays on the theme of my website/production company name of Ghost of Daisies would be nice (www.godaisies.com/blog).

    😀

As an architect staring his own firm I’m still stumped as to what I should put on a business card. I’m thinking it needs to be modern yet follow the green movement. How about some green modern architecture. I’m artsy but need professional help! Pick me, me, me, please!

I am starting a career in publishing, which doesn’t have much to do with foxes of any kind, but I’d like one of the fennec variety so much!

I once did an entire project where I tried to assign a single object to each person I know based on their personalities. One of my best friends is a kite, the other is a steering wheel.

If I could pick one object that represents me it would be a dandelion- in it’s puffer-ball form.

    The reasons are as follows:

-I’d like to think of myself as a motivated person but sometimes need a push- or a light breeze- in order to take flight to my full potential.

-The places and people most important to me are scattered across the country and I’d like to think that a little bit of me is always with them wherever they go.

-While my area of study is primarily Industrial Design, my interests are as scattered as they come- ranging from studying sign language, to wanting to be everything from an EMT, to a fitness/yoga instructor

-Also being sometimes loud, I can be seen as somewhat of a weed at times.

-I’m one of those phenomenons who loves flying and the journey of commuting

-I think the most important part of even the most short lived periods of our lives is the experience it leaves behind

-As a designer, I would like to think that even when I am gone, that those little seeds of insight or knowledge that I have spread will have life beyond me in some form or another for generations to come

And thus I think a dandelion is most suited to represent me, at this present time.

    Cheesy, I know!

I would absolutely love some cards with a purple giraffe on them – outside of my day job, I bake and sell killer cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, and my little company’s name is The Purple Giraffe, so what better to put on my cards! I’ve searched high and low for a graphic that I can use but all I keep finding are actual photos of giraffes and no cute stylized drawings. Sigh.
