Anchor Necklace.
My paternal grandfather was a gunner’s mate in the navy and carried the nickname Sailor with him for the rest of his life. He had an anchor tattooed on his forearm with carrying his ship’s name, and I’ll forever associate the emblem with him. I guess that’s why I’m so drawn to this hand-forged steel anchor necklace. I love the rough edges and that it will develop a slight patina over time, just like a rusty old sailor himself. {via Shiny Squirrel}

September 1, 2010 at 4:03 pmOMG…I love this necklace. I too, was in the Navy and will forever be remembered as the sailor girl. Anything with Anchors or boat knots reminds me of the good ole days..ok it was only 4 years ago but they were one of the best 4 years I have lived. A BIG thank youto your grandfather for serving!

September 1, 2010 at 4:05 pmI love this. Anchors make me think of my grandfather as well, and I've been obsessing about finding a great anchor necklace. I actually posted about one today!
