Back At It
I am in a constant state of missing school. I wasn’t a straight A student (more like an A-B 50/50 split), it’s the learning I miss. The bottomless well to draw from, especially in college where there were so many options from which to choose. I’m also a school and office supply junky, I doubt there’s ever been a kid (or adult) quite as enthusiastic when the big box stores roll out their masses of back-to-school inventory. Most years I limit myself to buying a fresh notebook or set of highlighters, just to satisfy the itch. But if I were to be a little more adult about it, I’d take this opportunity to freshen up my office space. Maybe with a few of these.
Clockwise from top left:
An illustrated Lined Paper Notepad for important notes and messages.
From the Desk Of cards to jot out quick thank yous.
Monthly Sticky Notes to keep my schedule in order.
Yellow highlighter ink because it’s more fun than a regular pen!
This backpack from Herschel Supply Company for Madewell because, well, I want one.
What are your favorite must-have supplies?

August 13, 2012 at 12:09 pmI’m so glad I’m not the only one with this problem! School/office supplies are just addictive. I’ve had to ban myself from certain stores this time of year. Aside from brand new pens and notebooks, my real downfall is file folders – the designer ones. Stripes, plaid, mod patterns – I know we have file folders at work that I can use for free, but these are WAY more fun.
(P.S. I also usually scavenge the new crop of backpacks and messenger bags, but that’s more a year-round addiction than a season-specific one…)

August 13, 2012 at 12:29 pmI can totally relate with you! I love going to school and I could be a student for life and right now I’m in grad school and it’s great.

August 14, 2012 at 2:32 amA few years ago I realized that quality pens change the way I take notes. I have a current favorite, but am not opposed to exploring new options. Any recommendations? Also, I had never been a highlighter person, but these past couple years I’ve gone through dozens. That highlighter ink and fountain pen are crazy!

August 14, 2012 at 8:51 amI’m with Susie – my fingers are itching for new “school” supplies. I bought the lined paper notepad by Rifle Paper just a few weekends ago – love Anna Bond’s stuff
