Away We Go.

Last night I went to an advance showing of Away We Go. Awesome, awesome, awesome movie. Great storyline, great cast and great soundtrack. Directed by Sam Mendes and written by real-life couple Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida, it’s the perfect mix of heartfelt and gut-wrenching hilarious. In other words, see it!

I'm so glad you liked it – I've only heard bad reviews from critics so far! I'm going tonight and I can't wait!

I am hoping to see it this weekend. I may have convinced Paul to do a double-header with this and The Hangover, but knowing us we'll just see The Hangover, in which case I'm dragging my mom with me the following weekend!

PS I love the name Vida. I know it's her last name but how cute!

I can't wait to see it! On the commercials last weekend it said that it was already out in select theaters, but it wasn't playing anywhere within 40 miles of me. Ugh!

Dave Eggers writes some really good books, highly recommend anything he writes. Will have to check this movie out.

i've been reading about this – that it's very Gen X. your review is also much more promising than the review I read on IMDB or whatever that movie site it.

it definitely is very Gen X, but the story was just really good. the characters are all really quirky and out of all of them there's surely at least someone that you can relate to. i'd compare it to Garden State meets Juno.

I'm so glad you liked it. I thought it was a really touching and endearing movie, plus my niece is in it, so I loved it! The romance between the leads is so dear.

aw, i went too and loved it! i was the one who came in all hot and sweaty and sweaty because i had stolen a puppy from some homeless people at the library (left her out on a metal bench in the heat) and had to rush to hide it from my boyfriend before we went to the movie. (he thinks i should stop picking up stray animals.) i hope you didn't have to sit by me.

annnnyway loved the movie. also reminded me of garden state.

I had no idea Dave Eggers was involved in this. He's been one of my favorite authors since I read A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius around 8 years ago. What is the What was amazing as well. John Krasinski being such a cutey doesn't hurt either. Can't wait to see it!

Where in the world did you see it?! I've been dying to see it but can't find any theatres in the OKC area with it listed in their showtimes!
