mOsantimetre Turkish Coffee Pots
Confession: I’ve never tasted Turkish coffee. Have you? This rainbow of porcelain Turkish coffee pots from mOsantimetre have me really curious as to what it’s all about and are maybe even giving me a reason to learn to make my own. It is coffee after all!

March 16, 2012 at 10:58 amThese are so great! I love the colors…and those handles!
I work for a university in their Center for Russian and East European Studies, and there was a woman who used to work for us who made Turkish coffee every once in a while. It’s strong stuff–very earthy, especially since I drink it without sugar.
The best part is that when you finish the cup, you turn it upside down on your saucer. The thick coffee grounds stick to the bottom, and after a few minutes you can flip the cup over and have someone read you your fortune–like tea leaves! It was definitely a fun way to pass an afternoon in the office.
I have no idea how to make it myself, though…I’ll have to find someone to teach me so I can justify buying one of these.

March 16, 2012 at 11:39 amThose are adorable!!!!!! I should get one for my brother (and myself) whose obsessed with Turkish coffee.
I had it for the first time two years ago when I went to Istanbul. It’s pretty fantastic. Though I never put sugar in my coffee so it was a little sweet for my tastes, but when I brew my brother’s turkish coffee (sans sugar) it’s delightfully spicy.

March 16, 2012 at 12:11 pmThose are so beautiful! I have too many coffee-making devices for my tiny kitchen as it is, but I think a shopping exception must be made for these. So lovely!

March 18, 2012 at 3:55 pmThese are beautiful! I stumbled upon a little hole in the wall Turkish restaurant here in Nashville a few months ago and can’t get enough of their coffee. Don’t drink the last sip. though! It’s all grounds. Learned that one the hard way.

March 26, 2012 at 3:09 pmI’m from Kuwait, and Turkish Coffee is really popular all over the Middle East. It’s really strong, has a distinct rich smell, and is very earthy, slightly thicker than espresso. There are always coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup.
People can drink it sweet, semi-sweet or sans sugar. Depending on taste. It’s a staple in probably most of the households over here. Even if you don’t drink it, we know how to make it for guests.
