Roll & Tumble Press.

I’ve always been a lover of things that are type-based and really graphic looking. Roll & Tumble Press is my perfect match. Now, which to choose? Here are just a few of my favorites.

Letterpressed Quotes.

As you’ve probably figured out by now, I’m big on quotes. These limited edition letterpressed quotes from Bespoke are tickling my fancy. (Get your mind out of the gutter!) Better hurry and grab one – they’re both limited edition runs of fifty.

Yee-Haw Industries.

Yee-Haw Industries has made my Monday morning – and don’t we all need something to do that?

YHI specializes in original art-like products – from letterpress posters promoting special events, music acts and theatre shows to handmade, woodcut, fine art prints. All of their work is custom-to-order, designed, set, and pressed by hand.

They’ve also managed to feed my obsession with calendars which is never a bad thing in my eyes.

Angie Lewin.

The rough, blocky, mod-ish qualities are what initially struck me about Angie Lewin’s work. I love the textures which seem to almost jump off the page at you, they almost feel tangible. Angie is a printmaker out of the UK who specializes in linocut, wood engraving and collage. You can see more of her work and purchase prints on site. She also has an interesting blog – All Things Considered – worth checking out.

I love design. I’m a design junkie. Some might even say design whore. And I can honestly say that I’ve not come across a body of work that has literally blown my mind in longer than I can remember. And then today happened and I found Hammerpress.

Hammerpress was founded in 1994 by Brady Vest who was busily turning the four-year-plan into the four-and-a-half-year-plan at Kansas City Art Institute. Years later, what started as a fascination for letterpress has developed into a full-blown business specializing in wedding invitations, custom artwork for restaurant chains, CD packaging, corporate identity, posters and art prints as well as a growing line of stationary products.

I, personally, would like to say Thank You, Brady. Thank You very much. Here are just a few of the pieces that caught my eye…

Concert Posters. Check out the site for about a hundred more. You can see how evident Hatch Show Print is in Vest’s work.
