I love the simple, structurally clean design of the oblique magazine rack by designer Marcel Wanders. I’ve always hated stacking up magazines and great little books just because things start to feel cluttered. Although this is waaay out of my price range it’s a great alternative to the Magazine Pile and a nice way to show a particularly awesome spread in your favorite mag.
I’m sort of fascinated with blood oranges, so a Blood Orange Martini seems right up my alley. And can I mention how yummy they look???
Ingredients:
– ¼ cup blood orange juice (about 1 orange)
– ¼ cup citrus vodka if you like it mild,
½ cup if you like it stronger
– 1 tablespoon simple syrup
Mix all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Pour into a chilled glass and prepare to become addicted.

I can’t recall ever having used a sugar lump myself, but that’s not stopping me. I love the design and grid structure of the Sugar Lump by Kathleen Hills so much that it just might make me start asking “One lump or two?”
I’m rundown from my recent travels and craving sweets which goes against any semblance of healthy eating in my world. Oh, and I have a cold. If that combination doesn’t call for coconut banana bread with lime glaze, well, then I don’t know what does.
I can’t claim this little gem as my own, but I can apologize for my late start today (damn DSL) and give you some eye candy to try and make up for it. After lots and lots of holiday travels – which still aren’t quite over – I’m more off-track than I’d anticipated. Bear with me. Please?

I am sans fireplace, but if that weren’t the case I would be lusting after the Bebop fireplace set by Blomus. It’s just about as attractive as something meant to be functional is capable of.
Three of my favorite words in one cocktail: Vodka Crème Brulee.
Ingredients:
– 2 oz Grey Goose La Vanille (or vanilla flavored vodka)
– 1 oz Frangelico
– 1/2 oz Cointreau
– 1 1/2 oz half and half
Garnish: vanilla stick
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with vanilla stick.

I have an admitted fascination (RE: unhealthy obsession) with cameras. I figure I own something like six or seven all together ranging from your everyday point and shoot 35mm to my Dad’s old Minolta. The missing pieces are a fisheye and pinhole. Well, my friends, I think i just got one step closer to crossing the latter off the list when I came across this pinhole camera kit. The downside is that it apparently takes 1-2 hours to construct. It might just be the price I have to pay …
While traveling for New Year’s I came across this incredible Little Birch jewelry stand and had to grab it up. I’ve been trying to find something for what seems like forever to hang my necklaces on. Up until seeing this I’ve been worried that some pieces would be too long and drag. But this is perfect.
And that’s all she wrote. In a few hours I’ll be off on the next leg of my holiday travels to visit some friends.
