Pocket Mirror

Daniel Schofield creates products that solve problems through simplicity – his Pocket Mirror combines a small storage pocket with a mirror. The wall-mounted mirror would be perfectly placed in the entry, allowing one last glance in the mirror while grabbing daily essentials from the small natural oak storage pocket. Pocket Mirror is available in three finishes: natural, smoked, or black painted oak.

Flying Martha Ornithopter

I’ve admired Haptic Lab for years, but after having the chance to meet Emily Fischer a few weeks ago and see her latest creation in person I might be classified as a fangirl. The Flying Martha Ornithopter is a flying machine that uses a flapping wing motion to fly, just like a real bird. The simple mechanical toy powered by a rubber band is named after the last passenger pigeon, Martha, who died in captivity at the Cincinnati Zoo in 1914. To make Martha take flight, simply wind up the bird and gently release like a paper airplane. (She also makes a charming companion when displayed in your home.)

Salad Dressing 10 Ways

Summer is unofficially here, and to me that means cramming as many veggies into this here bod as possible while they’re in season. My go-to is usually a kitchen sink style salad that uses up whatever’s languishing, and tying it all together with a delicious dressing that’s like a bow on top. I’m looking forward to trying out these ten recipes in the months to come!

The Boucharouite Project

The Boucharouite Project is a collection of rugs by CALLA that feature workmanship, creativity, and resourcefulness. It all began when Paris-based designer Calla Haynes was inspired to seek out artisans in Morocco to explore the space between European luxury and berber craft. Boucharouite rugs are traditionally handmade from old clothes and scrap fabrics, and Calla was determined to find a useful reuse for her large collection of fabrics. Cotton, wool, silk, crepe, and jersey textiles are printed with her original designs, and the resulting collection of thirteen one of a kind rugs speak for themselves.
