11 Apps Worth Your While

So many apps, so little time! I have to admit, I generally rely on the advice of others who’ve bought before to lead me in the right direction. For some reason I’m drawn to weather apps more than any other – I love clicking into each one to see if they’re predicting the same thing outdoors. I also really love travel apps that can keep me on schedule. What are your favorites?

1-2-3 Blogs I Love

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared some of my blog favorites, because I don’t spend that much time trolling the blogosphere. You might find it a little odd that most of my favorite sites aren’t other curatorial or art and design blogs, they’re usually food and lifestyle based.

01-Wit&Vinegar-Design-Crush

First up is Wit & Vinegar. Billy creates recipes that make me want to lick my laptop’s screen and spews funny like few others. You should definitely follow if you like food, sass, and dogs.

02-Henry-Happened-Design-Crush

Henry Happened is full of thoughtful posts and resources that I wish I had the time or foresight to figure out on my own. Thankfully this site takes care of it all for me. Follow if you’re looking for DIY, style, home, and food.

03-The-Sugar-Hit-Design-Crush

In the words of creator Sarah, “The Sugar Hit is a cooking, eating & living blog. It’s a resource for the young, the broke, the hungry, and anyone wanting to live a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget.” Follow along if you’re into all of the above. I am.

It’s Almost Pi Day: 10 Pie Recipes

My original plan was to bake the most amazing pie for you guys to celebrate Pi Day tomorrow. But some unexpected moving/real estate biz-nass got in the way of that, so the obvious next best thing was to share ten recipes I’m hoping someone makes me. (Okay, that would be crazy. Maybe just five of them.) Without further ado, ten Pi Day pies!

Macaroni and Cheese 10 Ways

Macaroni and cheese is the ultimate comfort food, hands down. Filling pasta, gooey cheese, and enough carbs to put you into an after dinner coma. It’s just so good. But if your go-to is a box of neon orange Kraft you’re missing out in a big way. Here are ten homemade versions of the stuff that will take your comfort to a whole ‘nother level.

Drake General Store Au Courant: Curated Classics Giveaway

DGS-3-Design-Crush

Let’s kick off this week with the biggest giveaway Design Crush has ever been a part of – Drake General Store’s Au Courant: Curated Classics! At the end of February Drake General Store launched their first major campaign, it’s brimming over with tried and true favorites and we’ve teamed up on a major giveaway – I’m talking $1,000 worth of prizes – to go along with it!

DGS-4-Design-Crush

Toronto-based Drake General Store has been on my radar for awhile now as a fantastic modern gift shop paired with a classic general store that carries contemporary nostalgia with a Canadian twist. (You might also know them for the cultural hotbed that is The Drake Hotel.)

I’m the happy owner of an HBC Caribou Throw that’s amazing on the coldest nights (and Peanut the Cat approved), as well as the Shared History Macho Man Robe which is basically the biggest sweatshirt hoodie you’ve ever laid eyes on or cozied up in. Both of these pieces are included in the giveaway among  FORTY OTHER ITEMS. It’s complete insanity, all because these Canadians want to share their best sellers with you.

You can enter for a chance to win the best giveaway ever from now until March 14th. Just click over to the Drake General Store’s Au Courant: Curated Classics giveaway page to toss your hat into the ring. Good luck!
