Happy {Mother’s Day} Weekend

betsy & iya

Above all things betsy & iya feels authentic, and if you’re authentic I’m interested. Their pieces manage to feel both ancient and modern at the same time, no small task. Every piece is handmade with attention to detail and hand-engraved at Betsy’s shop in Portland by her and her helper, Lupe.

Summer Totes

Summer bags need to be big, big enough that you can toss in a bottle of sunscreen, a beach towel, and a trashy novel. Preferably they’re also light or bright, we’ve had enough overcast colors by this time of year. They need to be easily slung over a tan shoulder, and just as easily tossed into the sand or grass. Some are fabric, some leather, some straw, but one thing is for certain – by summer’s end they’re all well-loved and worn out.

Marais USA Espadrille Wedges

Do you ever find that perfect meant-to-be piece for your seasonal wardrobe that you can’t get out of your mind? These Marais USA Espadrille Wedges embody summer and I can’t stop thinking about the tomato red pair above. Without the wedge they’d be acceptable, without the delicate ankle strap maybe okay. But everything together is screaming JEANS! SKIRTS! SUNDRESSES! at me. On second thought, maybe I need to be more concerned about shoes talking to me than acquiring these.

DIY Delicate Bracelets

PHOTO + PROJECT: DaWanda

I love these tiny delicate bracelets. The instructions are in German, but if you don’t want to go through the trouble of translating they look simple enough to figure out from the photos.

(And once again, yellow gold. I’m turning into my mother.)

Proenza Schouler Wallet

This leather wallet from Proenza Schouler comes in a rainbow of colors, but I love this peachy pink for spring and summer. Lately I’m really getting into clutches, and because this wallet has no interior dividers it would make for an easy transition.
