Posted In mixtape, musicRemember that cheesy personalized gifts store? You know, the one that was inevitably in every mall in America back in the 90s. Well, Mark and Graham isn’t that. Being a graphic designer and having a innate love of type makes me a little leery of anything “personalized” by nature. So you can imagine the pleasant surprise I received when this next-generation personalization hit it right on the nose with their beautiful font options and clean, modern pieces. Mark and Graham believes that making your mark is more than a symbol, it’s an artful mingling of typography and design. And you know what? It really is.
Everyday Leather Tote | Turkish Hydro Cotton Towel Set | Kiyla Necklace | Brass Rectangular Cufflinks | Canvas Tote | Armor Lux Stripe Long Sleeve Shirt | Beachport Pinstripe Sheet Set | Make Your Mark Cotton Duvet + Sham with Numbers
These are just a few of my favorite pieces, and they’ve also just released a comfy new line of personalized bedding that’s the perfect combination of luxury and style. Those pinstripe sheets are screaming my name – I think they’d be fantastic in my newly redecorated guest room.
Here’s the fun part, this week I’ve teamed up with Mark and Graham to run a Pinterest sweeps that you’re definitely not going to want to miss out on! We’ve created a board – Just My Type – that I’ll be pinning to all week with typographic inspiration. Create your own and enter for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree at Mark and Graham!

Jeff McClane‘s Solaroids are produced using large format Fuji instant film, which undergo long exposures of direct UV light. Each frame has that feel of long, lazy summer days! (via BOOOOOOOM!)

The hunt for the perfect iPhone case is ever elusive, but I think I’ve struck gold with Native Union’s CLIC Wooden design. Each case is handcrafted from cherry wood and accented with a just right pop of color. I went with the Aquamarine, which is definitely out of my black and white comfort zone and love it!

Nathalie Boutté‘s paper art is one of those things I look at and wish that I had created. Nathalie builds up each collage piece with layer after layer of long, narrow strips of paper that ultimately end up creating a feathered effect that’s forever evolving through movement.

Willow Knows a lot about fabric and aesthetic, particularly the tension between stillness and fluidity. Jessica Lee’s 100% hand dyed clothing and accessories are beautiful in design, concept, and balance. You can purchase your own little piece of Willow Knows at Need Supply.

I’m more than a little in love with Eve Sand‘s modern minimal landscapes. Each series is created in a different color palette that feels so perfect for the scenes she is setting up for us. I swear I feel more relaxed just looking at them! (Which is your favorite?)

Yes we’re still in the midst of the dog days of summer, buuut cool fall nights are just around the corner. I swear! And when that time comes there’s nothing cozier than a soft blanket when you’re gathered around a bonfire, cheering for the home team, or simply watching a movie curled up in the living room. Don’t worry, I’ve gotcha covered – no pun intended!

You might know Jaime Derringer as the founder and executive editor of the mega-blog Design Milk, but she’s also a ridiculously talented artist in her own right. After taking a bit of a break for the birth of her daughter, Jaime picked up her art again at the start of 2013 with wild abandon with daily explorations in her A Shape a Day Project, endless line drawings, and intense multimedia pieces. Jaime is also a close friend of mine, and I love how her mixed media creations thrive on happy accidents – the exact opposite of her Type A personality. You can purchase Jaime’s work through her Etsy shop or Society6, and I know prints will be happening sooner than later!
