Labor Day Eats.

I can hardly believe this weekend is Labor Day! Seems like the last few days of summer are zooming past. I put together a little menu full of some few things I’d love to make for a cookout this holiday weekend. Enjoy!

The kiddos can enjoy some (1)Pineapple Mallowade, while we adults sip on (2)Lambic Sangria. A nice raspberry-laced twist on the original. As we relax in the backyard and play some lawn games everyone can munch on some (3)Avocado Salsa and tortilla chips. For dinner a modern take on (4)Broccoli Slaw, crunchy (5)Summer Panzanella, refreshing Korean (6)Sweet and Spicy Cucumbers, juicy (7)Bruschetta Burgers and (8)The Best Baked Beans Ever. And after we digest for awhile and wait for the sun to drop a bit lower in the sky dessert is served: (9)Magic Pudding Dessert for everyone and some *extra special* (10)Cold Comfort Pops for the adults. I don’t know about you, but I sure am full.

Word: Bits of Beauty.

A big thanks to Jennifer of Bits of Beauty for starting today off with another great edition of Word!

{Knocks at door}

Bonjour?
Ugh, how can the store be locked, our appointment was 15 minutes ago.
I have stolen treasures from my rotten ex-boyfriend I must fence and that man across the street is staring at me. I have no idea why, I don’t look suspicious at all. I’m the picture of discretion. Perhaps, he is admiring me. Of course! Look how stylish I am! I’m part Grace Kelly and part Hitchcock heroine. How could that worthless prick possibly cheat on this? Bastard.
It’s ok, I’ll be getting my revenge, if this fool ever opens the door.
God, I have to pee. I do look fabulous though.

Mary Blair.

My favorite movie is Cinderella. No, not my favorite Disney movie or even my favorite children’s movie. Just my favorite movie period. So when I saw these concept drawings of Mary Blair’s I about flipped my lid. They’re stunning. I’d give my left arm to own one, but it turns out some are available for around $1,300.
