Mango, Lime + Ginger Muffins that look incredibly decadent, yet remain healthier than either of us would ever dare to guess. (Things in teacups always look so much better, don’t they??)
Congratulations, Janil! And thanks so much to all of you who entered, making this the biggest and baddest Win It to date with 125+ entries! Also a BIG thank you to YellowGoat for offering up one of her incredible pieces of jewelry for you lucky ducks to win. (She even randomly chose the winner herself! That’s her photo.)
One of the only things that’s been able to make me slow down and catch my breath this afternoon – a beautifully shot ehtereal video by Angus and Julia Stone for Mango Tree.
Lisa Rupp’s etsy shop has a new addition – these oh-so-sweet personalized drawings of little girls. You can switch out their hair color and dress patterns for a unique piece all your own.
I promise, if you’re a design geek like me, your day will not be complete until you see Brent Barson’s short film F is for Fail. Head over now to check it out!
I have to admit that I had never tasted a fresh mango until a few years ago. That’s when my grandmother of all people introduced me to them. And all I can say is holy yummy sweetness! I hope you enjoy the recipes I have lined up for Mango Week!
I love how the mango is the star of this tart and only set off slightly with a bit of kiwi and layer of pastry cream. It looks so refreshing and light.
It’s been nothing but a lot of rain this week, with more to come throughout the weekend. I normally have no problem with downpours, but two things are ticking me off. Thing #1. My gutters need replaced. Which is due to happen as soon as these storms let up for a few days. But at the moment 75% of my house is gutter-less, making 75% of my lawn swamp-like at best. And Thing #2. I haven’t had a chance to do any spring landscaping. Including the normal weeding/fertilizing thing. Which means my yard is starting to resemble something straight out of the rain forest.
This Weekend: • have a few friends over Saturday for a Derby party • try out new pub with C Saturday night • organize recipes in newly purchased binders • find something to put inside this large recycled glass vase • plan Mother’s Day luncheon menu
