Paul White

Pencil. On. Paper. That’s all Melbourne-based artist Paul White uses to create his insanely detailed illustrations of vehicles and the occasional landscape (sometimes together in the same piece). From junkyards full of obsolete cars to graffitied passenger vans to partially deconstructed airplanes, White resuscitates each one if only for a moment in time. (Anyone else getting Max Max-ish vibes?)

15 Fall Comfort Foods

After a relatively cool August in Pennsylvania it’s been in the high-80s, meaning I’ll probably be holding off on these recipes for a bit. I haven’t been in the mood to cook for months and I’m hoping some of these super comforting dishes will get me back in the kitchen, which is usually one of my happy places. Which looks best to you?

Debora Cheyenne Cruchon

Los Angeles-based French illustrator/designer Debora Cheyenne Cruchon loves to experiment with different styles, and I honestly can’t find one I don’t like. That said, my favorite just might be these collage-like little numbers with vibes that make me think of Florida and the 80s (maybe even together). Check out more of her work on Instagram.

Rowan and Wren

Isla Fluted Champagne Coupe, Set of Two

I *think* I just may have a favorite fall/winter home shop – are you familiar with Rowan and Wren? Maybe it’s the impeccable styling or just-so dark and moody lighting, but I can see at least half of their goods gracing my home. My aesthetic is in the middle of changing, combining minimalist modern preferences with more traditional pieces, and Rowan and Wren’s thoughtfully sourced collection of distinctive homewares sits smack in the middle of that Venn diagram. Here are my 13 favorite things, because I quite literally couldn’t narrow the list down any further!

Embroidered Military Shirt

Fall trends are emerging, and high atop the list is embroidery. Every article of clothing from shoes to shirts is fair game for brightly colored thread and pattern – and I dig it. I also dig that it would easy to DIY something you already own with an appliqué to mimic the look. (Always a bonus.)

Arco Table Light

The Arco Table Light is designed by Chicago-based sculptor Arielle Pollock. Inspired by gemstones, the top and bottom halves of Arco are made from a translucent PLA that creates a lovely diffusion when lit, emitting a glow that’s creates a calming ambience. The table light is made by Gantri, using an unique 3D printing process that combines advanced machine-engineering and meticulous hand-finishing, all done in the Bay Area.

Karen Ann Myers

It’s no secret that our relationship with our bedroom is an intimate one. Painter Karen Ann Myers is out to explore the psychological complexities behind that thought, while also inspired by the cult of beauty in mass media. Each overhead composition includes many of the same elements – a bed, a patterned rug, a wood floor, a dresser or chair, a bedside table, and oftentimes a phone – along with a woman in various stages of undress and emotion.

Irina & Silviu

Plenty of couples work together, but Irina and Silviu Szekely create across multiple disciplines – collage and photography. Today we’re highlighting the duo’s handmade collage work, which is made using scissors and glue just like the rest of us might grab at home. Each piece is full of completely disjointed bits and bobbles, and yet things end up ultimately harmonious. (I’m thinking we could all learn something from this, no?)
