MYdrap
I reuse, I recycle, I want to take on composting. And I use way to many paper towels. I’ve tried to cut back, but there’s something to be said for the convenience and satisfaction of tearing one off the roll. MYdrap basically takes all of those things into consideration and sends them off in a greener direction. Tear one of the 100% biodegradable cotton napkins (or placemats) off their roll, then wash it up to six times before composting or recycling it. MYdrap is available in 20 vibrant colors, four patterns, and five sizes. No excuses left because they’re also really affordable. (Thanks, Anne!)

August 9, 2011 at 8:07 amI love these! So colorful. I never thought I could give up paper towels, but I almost have. A jar of small towels on my counter, small white napkins in a bowl on my counter and paper towels hidden in a cupboard have helped. The napkins I use are in this post (http://www.elleinadspir.com/2011/04/reduce-reuse-recycle.html), sorry, this was the easiest link to grab. Now I’m off to look at the amzibg colored ones to see what I can add!

August 9, 2011 at 9:57 amwhat a great idea! i love the idea of being more green, but keeping the convenience of paper towel. and we’ve been having the compost debate and it may just be the time to start.

August 9, 2011 at 11:51 amAmazing idea! I’ve been wanting to get away from paper towels – and I have so much guilt when I use one. Something about pulling a fresh, clean one from the roll …

August 9, 2011 at 8:07 pmThis is brilliant! Paper towels are also a guilty eco pleasure of mine…they’re just so clean! I haven’t really found a super great substitute yet, but these look like they have potential. Thanks!

August 11, 2011 at 6:05 pmAn even more Eco friendly idea is to pick up vintage & antique napkins. I have a bunch in white, so if they stain, I can bleach them. I keep a basket in the laundry room, so after meals, I just toss them in the basket. If they don’t come clean, then I throw them out. But I figure by then they have served their purpose!
The other thing I do is have a dish towel for drying hands, wiping off the counters and such. I have loads of these, and they get washed all the time, too!
