A few weeks ago I received a lovely email from Fréya and immediately fell in love with her beautiful, optimistic illustrations. (She’s also a bird of the feather who got her start in advertising as well!) Her work has graced Cosmo, Waitrose and Business Review Weekly among others. In other words, she rocks so much she’s made a career out of her awesomeness!
And now you have a chance to have it grace the walls of your home. The lovely Fréya is giving away my favorite print – Strange & Magnificent! {Her shop is currently closed because the lucky duck is on vacation, but when it reopens on the 15th please do pop over and see the rest of her inspiring prints.}

October 13, 2009 at 6:03 pmhmm. i think my favorite personality trait is that i'm a do-er. when other people just talk about stuff, i make it happen. i guess that also sort of makes me brave and determined, which are traits i didn't think i would have attributed to myself. interesting.

You can put me in the middle of the most stressful situation and I'll have a smile on my face and a no worries we'll get through this attitude. I had a tough up bringing but it's taught me that your always stronger then you think and things don't stay bad for long.

When people around me are feeling stressed or thinking negatively I've been the one who is reminding them that everything is/will be OK. (This is a big deal, because I used to be a very negative/unhappy person. I like being happy more, though.)

I have a vast imagination, but I know how to be very down to earth when it's necessary and I try my hardest not to be ignorant. If there is an issue I don't know much about I will search different perspectives and explanations to inform myself.

At work, one of my nicknames is Mr. Happy Face and more and more I find strangers opening up to me (mostly in elevators) and having them tell me that my energy makes them smile. I'm more than happy to be a harbinger of joy. It only fuels me that much more! : )

Multiple times a week I get asked why I’m yelling, but it’s just my normal tone. I used to get embarrassed, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve embraced it – it’s part of who I am and I get it from my family. When we all get together it’s like a shouting match and I love it.
