Print It: Watercolor Valentines

Valentines-2014-1-Design-Crush

One of my 2014 resolutions for Design Crush is to bring more of my own DIY projects to light, so we’re starting what will hopefully be a monthly series with these printable watercolor valentines! I had the best time pulling out my watercolors and gold paint and creating these – write your words on the back or string them up to make a fast and festive garland. Choose from the valentines above or a blank set to add your own touches. Download below!

10 Delicious Tacos

Let’s face facts, tacos are delicious. They’re delicious any time and any place, but for some unknown reason they’re best in winter for me. Maybe it’s the spices, maybe it’s their versatility and ease, but it’s probably the comfort level. My all-time favorite is a solid SoCal fish taco, but I’m generally up for anything that doesn’t contain weird animal parts. Here are ten that I’m hoping to try ASAP!

Join Me at Craftcation 2014!

Craftcation 2014-Design Crush

Four days at the beach learning and creating with industry professionals – sounds good, right? And it’s not just me daydreaming, it actually exists in the form of Craftcation! This year the conference is being held April 3-6 in Ventura, CA and I’ll be in attendance speaking on two different panels – Advanced Social Media and Keeping Track. The goal of it all being to ignite your entrepreneurial spirit, strengthen your skills, and build relationships within the handmade community – all things I wholeheartedly support. If this all sounds tailor-made for you, sign up for Craftcation registration right here (if you do so before February 15th you can take advantage of the Early Bird Special). Hope to see you in Ventura this April!

Faunascape

Faunascape-1-Design Crush

Landscape and the animal kingdom combine seamlessly in Faunascape. Each animal portrait is UV printed on Finnish plywood in the prettiest of subdued color palettes, resulting in a serene moment to hang on the wall of your home. Or maybe inspiring words are more your jam, in which case you should check out Faunascape Statement Wall Art to scratch the itch.

Giant Cloud Cushions

Giant Cloud Cushions-1-Design Crush

While I’m thoroughly enjoying the crazy winter weather the country has been experiencing lately, I’m also dreaming of spring. Particularly those first days that are just warm enough to shed your coat and trepidatiously put on a pair of sandals. These Giant Cloud Cushions are beyond perfect for laying around in the grass and soaking up some rays (with SPF, of course). They’re enormous, waterproof, and comfortable – and my backyard just asked for a pair!

Matthew Picton

Matthew Picton-1-Design Crush

These intricate paper sculptures, created by Matthew Picton, are built from old old literature, phonebooks, etc. Through his work Picton explores the historic and fictional narratives associated with different cities, creating representations from different periods in history using texts and materials from each time period.
