Print It: Watercolor Valentines

Valentines-2014-1-Design-Crush

One of my 2014 resolutions for Design Crush is to bring more of my own DIY projects to light, so we’re starting what will hopefully be a monthly series with these printable watercolor valentines! I had the best time pulling out my watercolors and gold paint and creating these – write your words on the back or string them up to make a fast and festive garland. Choose from the valentines above or a blank set to add your own touches. Download below!

Valentines – Part 1

Each and every year I feel like Valentine’s Day sneaks up on us. First there’s the rush of the holidays, then the sigh of relief after New Year’s, then BAM! Valentine’s Day. It’s less than a month away and for once I feel kinda sorta on top of it, I’ve even purchased a few cards!

Merry (Orthodox) Christmas!

John-Carey-Design-Crush

PHOTO: John Carey

I’m one of the lucky ones who gets to celebrate not one, but two Christmases every year. My mother’s side of the family is Serbian Orthodox, so I grew up taking January 6th and 7th off from school every year and today I’m taking some time off to celebrate with my massive family. (If you’re curious about Orthodox Christmas and why the calendar is different, you can learn more here.) See you back here tomorrow!

Happy 2014!

Amanda Pham-Design Crush

Happy New Year! Saying 2014 feels like we’re living in the future, don’t you think? This year is going to be a bit crazy, I already have a few major things penned on my calendar and I’m hoping to add a few more. My focus (or resolution, if you prefer) is going to be on living in the present. Like all of us I have the habit of thinking of the what ifs of the past and the what will bes of the future, and I’d really like to change that. Cheers to the best year yet!

My (Imaginary) New Year’s Eve 2013

After the craziness of Thanksgiving and Christmas I like to make New Year’s Eve more low-key. A come as you are get together with good friends and family is just what the doctor ordered for a great start to a new year! Want to dress up? Go for it. Prefer pajamas? That’s cool, too. We’ll decorate some with metallics and pinks and call it a day. Everyone can bring an appetizer or dessert and I’ll provide the cocktails – sound good? Mix and mingle as you please, and if you can’t stay awake until the ball drops? No judgement. Now that’s my kinda party.
