Le Creuset Matte Collection

Le-Creuset-Matte-Collection-1-Design Crush

When Le Creuset revealed their new matte collection a few weeks ago (it’s now in stores) I most definitely did a combination hold my breath/squeal/internal happy dance. I’m excited to check out these new muted tones from the company that’s known for bright and glossy pops of color in the kitchen in person.

Standing Bowls

Fort Standard-1-Design Crush

I love the shape and design of these Standing Bowls from Fort Standard. At first glance I thought they were ceramic or porcelain, but nope – they’re sand cast aluminum! That means these guys are completely food safe and great for everyday serving and use. I’ll take the big guy for my fruit dish!

A Sunny Afternoon

A-Sunny-Afternoon-3-Design-Crush

If these textiles from A Sunny Afternoon don’t make you want to pack up a picnic basket and eat al fresco, well, nothing will. I’m going ape for the bright, abstract napkins and dish towels that have me mentally rummaging through my belongings for a big, bright blanket to set up on. (There’s even a beautiful picnic basket if you need more inspiration!)

Trending: Shibori

Tie-dye is experiencing yet another comeback, but not just any tie-dye – shibori. Shibori is a Japanese process for resist-dyeing cloth by binding, folding, twisting and compressing. There are tons of ways to manipulate fabric for shibori, each one creating different designs and patterns. And right now it’s showing up everywhere in the home and on the runway.

1.5.2 Ray Long and Large Boards

1.5.2 Ray-Long-Design Crush

I might have mentioned before that a little over a year ago I started collecting cutting boards. It took me approximately 2.4 seconds to fall head over heels for these two exceptional black walnut pieces – 1.5.2 Ray Long and 1.5.2 Ray Large. Food, design, and contemporary craft all combined in a perfect storm to create these beauties that would be just as at home on the wall as are as on your kitchen table.
