Twofold

Twofold-1-Design Crush

I’m having a moment with Twofold, a collection of contemporary textiles pulled together by Australian Jessica Warner Stites to channel her passion for distinctive textiles and showcase the designers she’s discovered in her life and travels. The shop presents an edited selection of scarves, bags, table linens, and fabric goods from designers who stand out for their inventive patterns and old-world craftsmanship. These Bunad blankets might as well have KELLY! written all over them.

Rikki-Tikki-Just-1-Design Crush

Retro meets contemporary in this new line of dinnerware from Rikki Tikki. JUST Keramik features beautiful shapes and  a crosshatch pattern on the exterior of each piece. The container lids and interiors are available in several muted tones that add contrast instead of distraction to the textured vessels.

Wind & Willow Home

Wind & Willow Home has some of the most summery wares I can imagine, perfect for outdoor get togethers and quiet dinners on the patio alike. I’m especially drawn to the large wooden bowls that have been dipped in a marbleized custom rubber material. Right now Wind & Willow Home is working on an Indiegogo campaign to start a soft goods line of textiles to go along with their modern wooden housewares! You can check out the Growing and Giving Project right here and score some exclusive product perks if you help out.

Mid-Century Lucite Acrylic Stool from Migrations // Colorblock Monogram Tray by Pencil Shavings Studio // On Center Cabinet Handle by House of Antique Hardware

Modern and chic or trashy cool? Oh lucite, you’re so controversial! In moderation the transparency of lucite can act as a tool to visually open up a space or add a touch of 60s vibe. Stick to clean lines and minimal color and you’re set.

Caitlin Wilson Textiles

Caitlin-Wilson-Textiles-2-Design-Crush

For me, this is the year of the textile. For a long time I focused on filling my home with furniture and art that makes me happy, but now it’s time to fill in the spaces. That basically translates to I need amazing pillows, rugs, and blankets!

Caitlin Wilson Textiles has a great selection of pieces popping with pattern and color, which is integral to my home because I rely heavily on whites and neutrals for larger pieces. Her patterns are also easily mixed and matched, making it super easy to swap out one thing for another when you get bored.

I’m loving the black spotted rug that’s found a home in my kitchen. I’ve stayed away from any sort of floor coverings in there up until this point and am so happy with the touch of pattern! (It looks like Bebe and Rainey also approve.)

Cotton & Flax

Cotton & Flax-1-Design Crush

Each and every step of creation for Cotton & Flax is completed by founder Erin Dollar in her Los Angeles studio. Everything from the pattern design (with brush and ink) to the selection of heirloom quality fabrics to the hand printing and sewing. Is your mind blown? Talk about quality control! I love the palette and natural materials Erin has chosen for Cotton & Flax’s spring line – you can check out the lookbook (photographed by Laure Joliet) right here.
