These sectional globes that you put together yourself are fantastically abstract in shape, I’d love to hang one from the ceiling in the corner of my living room. (Psst… you can even color them to your liking!) (via Design For Mankind)
I’m calling it an early week so that I can head off and celebrate the marriage of two good friends. Have a superb weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all of you out there!
These Windsor chairs remind me of the ones in our kitchen as I was growing up, albeit ours were much more black and brown with gold decal accents. Ahem. It would also be a killer DIY project to find a set of rundown chairs and give them a bright new life.
I’m so jealous of Canadians right now. Not only do they have an awesome medical system they also have the Hoot Vase, which doesn’t ship to the US. I love the handblown glass shape, and because of the owl’s beak I’d be tempted to use the green one as a pitcher as well. (via Lauren Martin)
Between my loves of cooking and paper goods, you’d think I’d have a more organized game plan in the kitchen. Nope. Don’t get me wrong, everything is neatly put in its place. It’s just that once it’s there I’m not always sure what to do with it. If I don’t have a few recipes picked out and a list made when I go to the grocery store I end up coming home with apples and bread and that’s about it. I’ve found that most people are like me and need a little help, and these pieces fit the bill perfectly.
I love eating snacks and desserts out of tiny bowls and cups, so these Mediterranean Parfait Cups are right up my alley. I also think they’d make for some sweet bud vases in a pinch. (via the kitchn)
Mugs are one of those things that get out of control in a heartbeat. One minute you have the set that came with your dinnerware, the next you’re sitting on a pile of unattractive promotional eyesores. I swear I clean mine out at least once a year. (The easy thing would be to just say no to the free mugs, right? Wrong.) On weekend mornings when I can actually enjoy my coffee I like to nerdily choose my mug according to my mood. Most times it ends up being a white one I picked up on clearance for $2.99 – wonder what that says about me.
The palette of Iittala’s purnukka jars couldn’t match my home better if they tried. I’d love to sue that turquoise one in particular to house my sea salt. {via Creature Comforts}
