I love corn bread, though I have yet to make it myself. And I actually can’t stand buttermilk to drink, but love cooking with it. So I’m thinking Buttermilk Corn Bread is a recipe I need to add to my arsenal! It’s supposedly a lighter version of the original, perfect for more delicate soups.
A really simple Plum Cobbler that the author claims to be “one of my all-time favorite desserts EVAH.” Good enough for me – I love plums almost as much as nectarines!
Last night, for the first time in at least five years, I wore my retainers. Biiiigmistake. My teeth feel tortured, like I just had my braces tightened for the first time. I don’t know whether to be sad that my mouth is hurting or mad that I haven’t worn the damn things for so long in the first place! Liquids are high on my To Eat List right now. Specifically Chilled Plum Soup!
Here around the blog we’re going to start easing into fall with what I consider to be some more autumn-like dishes and ingredients. First up: Plum Week.
These Brown Sugar Plum Cakes look really, really easy to make and I’m betting the recipients would be ever so grateful and indebted to you. Who doesn’t love that?
With this being Labor Day weekend and the unofficial end of summer, the seasons are about to start changing. And with that a few things are getting rearranged around here as well.
I asked and you answered – Mad Props will now be included in my end-of-week Happy Weekend post. That means weekly roundups of goodness instead of monthly! It also means that the This Weekend: section of the post will be relocating itself to the Monday Goodness post. Got all that? Good.
And don’t forget to enter The Honey and Pig Shop giveaway before Tuesday morning at 9:00 CST! You have a change to win an adorably frilly hair piece.
Postal Press has gone live! Check out Alyson’s pretties
Thinking I might make this Creamy Ricotta and Bell Pepper Crostini as an appetizer for the Oklahoma v. BYU game Saturday night! Are you making anything special to kick-off tailgating season?
I can’t wait for the weather to cool down just a little bit more, then I can get out of my Summer Salad Phase and move on to my Comfy Fall Foods Phase. This Red Pepper Risotto is sitting high and mighty atop that list.
When I was a kid green peppers were my very, very favorite pizza topping. They came along with a ritual – eat the peppers, eat the cheese, eat the crust! In that order. Can’t wait to give this Pizza with Red and Yellow Peppers a go. Maybe I’ll even eat it like a normal person.
I can hardly believe this weekend is Labor Day! Seems like the last few days of summer are zooming past. I put together a little menu full of some few things I’d love to make for a cookout this holiday weekend. Enjoy!
