Scotch Naturals WaterColors is most likely not the scotch you’re thinking about, although it’s so classy it might as well be. It’s a line of non-toxic eco-friendly polish that not only decorates your nails, it also conditions them and has lasting power. Choose from thirteen colors, any and all of which I’d gladly wear. (Again, classy.)
Do you ever see something and you can actually picture it in your home? The exact spot, how it would look with all of your things, what it would be like to see it every day. Me and this modern cuckoo clock are so there.
PS: In the entryway, above the bench, across from the coat closet.
Such a clean, pared down aesthetic on these Accento Serving Ware pieces from Konstantin Grcic and Serafino Zani. They include a cheese knife, risotto spoon, and pie/lasagna server and would look great with just about any dinnerware you’re already using.
Another great collaboration from Threadless just hit the table. This time they teamed up with Baggu to release ten limited edition Duck Bags, each sporting a design from the Threadless design community. These bags are heavy duty and super strong. Each 100% recycled cotton canvas tote has an adjustable strap with brass hardware for versatility, a center snap, and an inside pocket.
I love all things tarnished, maybe I equate them in some way with myself. I’m not quite sure. What I am sure of is these authentic coin necklaces from etsy shop oatie’s and how much I like them. Which is to say, lots.
These Fortune Cookie Coin Purses from Diana Eng are too clever. Made from recycled leather, each one comes with a fortune inside and a unique number so you can track its origin. {via Josh Spear}
It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been a year since the last Alt Summit! My experience last January can only be described as life changing in the best possible way. I met so many amazing people, networked with the best of the best, and had gads of fun all in three short days. The only thing I can even compare it to is Design Blog Summer Camp, I didn’t want to leave!
And at this time next week I’ll be on my way to Salt Lake City once again! This year they’ve expanded the summit to include five days of discussions, round tables, networking, and parties. There’s even a chance to hit up Sundance, ski, or thrift around the city.
I’ll be speaking on the Striking a Balance: Balancing Social Media and Your Day Job panel Friday with three lovely ladies who I have the utmost respect for – Jaime Derringer of Design Milk, Kirsten Grove of Simply Grove, and Suann Song of Simplesong. If our prep meetings give any hint of how the conversation will go on the panel, well, it’s going to be fantastic. We even have a few surprises up or sleeve for those of you who plan on attending our session! You can check out the entire list of speakers and schedule here. Hope to see you next week!
PS: I threw together a little wardrobe planner/packing list for myself and decided to share after a few people asked for it. You can download your own here.
Jonathan Zawada’s Over Time exhibition is not only breathtaking, but also brilliant. The landscape topographies are created from graph data, modeled in 3D, and then oil paintings are created from those 3D renderings. You can see them in person at Prism Gallery in L.A. through February 28th. {via The Jealous Curator}
I’m 99.9% sure I just discovered a life-changer, folks. Soupe Crasse, or Cheese and Bread Soup, is a Northern Italian holiday dish perfect for the winter months. It has only five ingredients and finishes up like a hearty casserole. Cheese and bread! in one dish! This just hopped up to the coveted #1 spot in my recipe pile.
