I like the idea of having a container garden, something not quite as permanent and less traditional. A whole mess of these Square Containers 1.0 from BILT Products would do nicely. They’re made of 12 gauge steel and range in size from 3″ square to 12″ square. Eventually, over time, the edges will rust giving them even more character. {via Simone LaBlanc Inc.}
Posted In grow itThis coming July the USPS will debut a killer series of stamps dedicated to pioneers of American industrial design. I have a feeling these will end up in a frame on my wall.
Posted In createSo here’s the thing, we’re ten days into the new year. Do you have your shiny new calendar on display? Was that a no? Oh, okay. Well, here are three beauties that I can’t even believe are free for you to download and print. No excuses left now.
Posted In calendars, downloads, paper goodsL.A. is definitely onto something with its current trend of literary bars. I want in on this.

Big Ones, Small Ones by Kathy~
Like I mentioned yesterday morning, I’ll be heading to PA for the second time in less than a month tomorrow. This time it’s to celebrate Orthodox Christmas with my mom’s side of the family. And did I mention just how early my flight is? Before the sun comes up early. Before human beings are supposed to be awake early. So early that I will literally be in physical pain for the rest of the day. Early. But I adore this side of my family and am looking forward to drinking copious amounts of alcohol, sharing family stories and gossip, and being with people who make me feel loved.
Until I return to the blog next Monday, here are a few bits and pieces of awesome…
+ Vintage + Mugs + the Luck of the Draw = Order of Mug
+ Loving this Art on the Streets series
+ This New Year’s post is still resonating with me
+ Charley Harper’s beautiful illustrations come to life in this iPad app
+ Big brands made minimal
+ Oh, Fuuuuuudge! Yes, it’s really fudge.
+ A great series from The Lil Bee

What is it about the new year that makes us take stock of our lives and ourselves? Time inevitably moves forward no matter what we do, but there’s just something about throwing the old calendar out and starting the new that makes us all take a closer look. After making my yearly goals (not resolutions) I found myself reading Erin‘s post about the exact opposite – non-goals. And I started thinking about the things that I manage to accomplish fairly well and would hate to change about myself.
What things about yourself are A-OK by you?
