Starting this afternnon, I’ll be showcasing different gift ideas here and there through the holidays under the tag gifted. Who knows, you just may see something that’s a perfect fit for someone on your Christmas shopping list. Or maybe even something to indulge in for yourself!
Deceitful meringue rings that are crafted out of industrial grade silicone as opposed to egg whites and sugar. A perfect fit for the baker in your life. Don’t you just want to take a bite? {via poppytalk}

I love how grand something so simple can look. Like this pinecone door decor from sweet paul. It only takes a few minutes to put together and looks so festive on a paned door.
A pathetic admission: the only time and place I’ve ever eaten crepes was at an IHOP in L.A. while visiting a friend one summer. The word “international” was in the title of the dish though, so that’s got to count for something… right? SO SAD. Now I need a crepe pan so I can make some of these tasty Brown Sugar Strawberry Crepes in my own kitchen!
Posted In recipesWhen Caroline and I hit up the Girlie Show last weekend, one of the booths that really stood out to me was Oklahoma’s own amelia mae. Her prints are very graphic-based and I ended up buying the postcard version of this one.
But what really got me was when Caroline told me the tale of the artist’s other shop. Project 8256. All of the profits from Project 8256 go directly towards an adoption fund for her sister and brother-in-law who are in the lengthy process of adopting two children from Ethiopia. And to AHOPE, an orphanage in Addis Ababa that cares for HIV+ children. You can find out more information about both Amy and Project 8256 by visiting the blog.
Today is a success, if for no other reason than I finally learned the steps to making a perfectly messy bun similar to this one. {via A Cup of Jo}
A beefed up version of the classic Greyhound, aptly named the Chinatown Express.
Chinatown Express
– 1 1/2 oz vodka
– 2 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
– 1/4 oz Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur
– 1/4 oz Li Hing syrup
– 2 dashes Fee Brothers Grapefruit Bitters
Place all ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe glass and enjoy!
Posted In cocktailsTotally digging this Lorax poster, paying homage to the 1971 Dr. Seuss classic that speaks to the damaging effects of humanity on the environment. A real short run of only twenty signed posters that are printed on reclaimed paper using soy inks. {via BB-Blog}
Posted In paper goods, printsSo here’s the thing, these Brown Sugar Scones are vegan. But I never would have known before looking through the recipe (or at the name of the blog). My rule: If it looks good, eat it!
Posted In recipesI’m loving the holiday collection David Stark is bringing to the table for West Elm this season. Very whimsical and sparkly and just my style.
