365 Days.

November 17, 2008 Amy Mortimer started her 365 Days project. One photograph a day for an entire year. And the results are really beautiful. I’m impressed with the level of dedication an undertaking such as this requires as well as the diversity in the photographs from day to day. Not to even mention the willingness to be transparent and show off your life in such a way. Beautiful.

The Daily Eat: Lemon and Blueberry Upside Down Cake.

My grandma has a little blueberry bush on the edge of her property back in Pennsylvania. Each and every summer I’d look forward to them getting plump and juicy, then load them into empty butter containers. YUM! With that little trip down memory lane I introduce to you Blueberry Week 2.0… enjoy!

It took me a long time to realize fruits other than pineapple can be made into upside down cakes. Dumb, but true. The flavor combinations in this recipe for Lemon and Blueberry Upside Down Cake has me dreaming of reading the paper over lazy cups of coffee.

Win It: Heather Kintner.

Summer is wedding season, which makes this week’s Win It: Heather Kintner perfect timing. Heather is giving away a set of bachelorette invitations and thank you notes from her Unmentionables line to one lucky reader! The delicates and undergarments that adorn each piece are fun and flirty and will definitely set the tone for an evening to remember.

How to Win:
1. Tell me what your perfect bachelorette party would be like or if it’s already happened what it was like. Sweet or raunchy? Day time get together or evening on the town? The more details the better.
2. Leave a valid email address. (Unfortunately, those who do not will be automatically disqualified.)
3. Do it all before Monday, June 29th at noon CST.

A winner will be chosen shortly after the contest closes. Good luck, ladies!

Happy {Father’s Day + Summer} Weekend.

It’s been in the high 90s here all week and summer officially shows up this Sunday. Then bomb will really drop. The 100s as far as the eye can see! Thankfully there are things like air conditioning and cold bottles of beer to keep us from going mad.

What are your plans for Father’s Day? I’ll be spending it with my stepdad and mom and calling my dad in PA to send good wishes from afar.

This Weekend:
• assemble patio set
• make Kahlua Brownies for my stepdad
• wrap Father’s Day gifts
• go to the Farmer’s Market bright + early Saturday
• drugstore, grocery store and other errands

Note: Don’t forget – you only have until Monday at noon CST to enter the Flights of Fancy contest! There’s still a good chance you could be the one to take home the prize!

Happy Father’s Day!
Happy Summer!
Happy Weekend!
