Gum Election.

Gum Election is a guerilla art project which started in New York City in October 2008. It should encourage people to vote on November 04th and also not to spit out their chewing gums carelessly on New York Cities already dirty streets. If you want to bring the Gum Election to your city or your office, print out the poster, put it up and send me pictures of it.

Love this! Wish I would have seen it sooner – OKC would have been plastered!

I Can’t Help It.

I made a conscious decision this morning to not blog about the election. To not beg anyone to go and vote because it’s not only a right, but a privilege. To keep my mouth shut and just absorb the day and what is surely to be a historical election.

But as you can see from these words I’ve broken that promise. It’s been broken because it’s too important and I’m filled with too much excitement and anticipation to be quiet. It feels like Christmas Eve and I’m left wondering whether I’m going to get the great art supply kit that I’ve talked about for the past two months. Or whether it’s the not so cool sweater my mom pointed out at the mall the other day that will be waiting for me under the tree.

I need the art supplies.

Election Party.

If I had been thinking like a normal, rational person at any time in the past few weeks I would have connected that today being my birthday as well as election day would have been perfect for a party. You’ll just have to trust that it would have been kickass and probably gone something like this.

Instead you’ll just have to take what you can from these election day cocktails.

Happy Birthday to Me.

As of today the last year of my 20s is upon me. And I’m not dealing with it all that well. In all honesty I haven’t dealt with anything past 24 very well. I know it’s only a number. I know that age is a state of mind. Blah, blah, blah. At least I have the election to focus on!

Today:
• Voted first thing this morning – Obama winning would be the best birthday present ever. And make turning 29 not what I most remember about today.
• Chris brought in bagels to work from the most amazing shop. The pumpkin and french toast are incredible!
• My mom and step-dad sent me the most gorgeous arrangement of gerbera daisies!
• Friends and family have been texting and emailing all morning with the best birthday wishes.
• Happy Hour tonight with friends.
