Glass Jar Goods

There’s something about foods packaged in glass jars that makes it seem that much more delectable. Maybe it’s that we can actually see what we’re getting, or that it makes us think of someone lovingly preparing the goods in their kitchen. Or maybe even that there’s something we can take away from the experience itself, the jar. Whatever the reason, I’m on board with it.

Happy {St. Patrick’s} Day

PHOTO: Lisa Golightly

St. Patrick’s Day is one of those go big or go home holidays. Either you love it and celebrate brashly, or it’s basically just another day. With green eyes, a name like Kelly, and a wee bit of Irish heritage I’m in the former camp. And while I don’t request the day off work, I am out the door at the stroke of five and headed to the nearest pub a mere six blocks from the office. Today will be no different.

A few Irish goodies for you:
01. Irish Stew
02. Shamrock Cake
03. Homemade Irish Cream
04. Irish Soda Bread
05. Irish Potato Candy
06. Car Bomb Whoopie Pies
07. The Irish Mojito
08. Steak and Guinness Pie
09. Chocolate Stout Cake
10. Guinness Chocolate Bread Pudding
11. Irish Brown Bread Ice Cream
12. Shrimp in Jameson Cream Sauce
13. Red Flannel Hash

Soap Ends

I’ve never made soap, but I know that in order to get perfectly sized bars they have to chop off some excess. Morning Calm bundles them up and sells them as Happy Endings! A nice way to try out the shop’s offerings, use a new soap every few days, or put out for guests. So smart. {via Shiny Squirrel}
