You’d like to be a better photographer, right? If you answered yes, I have just the thing for you – Souvenir Foto School! And luckily, we happen to be giving away a spot that could have your name on it.
Souvenir Foto School is a 5-week online course put together by Miss B. of Besotted Brand Blog, a fantastic photographer in her own right. All levels of photo know-how are welcome to join in on the fun, in fact you don’t even need a real camera because your camera phone will do. Crazy, yes? The goal of the course is to improve your skills with photo challenges by using time tested techniques. Put your new-found skills to work for crafts, your Etsy shop, or new photos of your cat – the world shall be your oyster! This eye-catching series of floral x-rays by photographer Brendan Fitzpatrick has me doing a lot of staring. The end result was accomplished through the use of a digital x-ray machine and a few rounds of color correction in Photoshop. Well worth it, and they’re all available as prints on Society6. “Once upon a time there was a girl who had 7 invisible horses. People thought she was crazy and that she in fact had 7 imaginary horses, but this was not the case. When autumn came the girl spent a whole day washing all her clothes. She hung them on a string in her garden to let the gentle autumn sun dry them. Out of nowhere, a terrible storm came and its fiercefull winds grabbed a hold of all her clothes and all seven horses (authors note: since they are invisible they obviously didn’t weigh much). The girl was devestated and spent all autumn looking for each horse spread around the country, wrapped in her clothes.”

Remember Carl Kleiner’s collaboration with IKEA on their cookbook? It was wildly popular, so who can blame them for joining forces again? This time the focus is on tableware and kicky color combinations. Only a few shots have been released and I can’t wait to see more.
