Have a Cocktail On Crispin Finn

objects by Crispin Finn

Crispin Finn are a duo who design using only the colors red, white, and blue. I’m always interested in artists who put very specific limitations on their style, and I have to say these two have nailed it. I’m especially drawn to their four cocktail prints – Champagne, Negroni, Old Fashioned, and Caipirinha – which along with all of their work is produced, packaged, and shipped by hand.

Georgina Vinsun

Georgina Vinsun-1-Design Crush

I’m loving the expressive abstract paintings of artist Georgina Vinsun these days. I enjoy how Georgina keeps the same overall composition within each piece, yet changes the look and emotion conveyed through her use of color and brushstrokes. Usually that would bore me, but this is definitely a case of doing it right.

Hutt Lagoon

Steve Back-1-Design Crush

Who knew the world’s largest algae farm in Australia could be so damn beautiful? We typically think of the stuff as being shades of green and brown – but all of these bright reds, pinks, and oranges are amazing. Photographer Steve Back shows us a rainbow of algae growing in Hutt Lagoon through his camera lens. (via Present&Correct)

Flight Tag Prints

Flight Tag Prints-1-Design Crush

Airport codes have always fascinated me, the fact that three little letters assigned to each location are responsible for keeping the entire system organized the world over. Pretty amazing. Neil Stevens seemingly agrees, he’s created a series of flight tag prints based on vintage luggage tags dating back to the 1950s. Which one is your favorite? (You can purchase each by clicking the BUY button on the lower right of each image.)
