Elsa Mora

Elsa Mora-1-Design Crush

Artist Elsa Mora was born into poverty in Cuba and believes she changed her future by imagining a better destiny. I love that. Today she lives in Los Angeles and creates beautifully intricate art using only paper and glue.  Never believe anyone who tells you your mind isn’t a powerful thing! (Read Elsa’s incredible backstory here.)

Molly McGrath

Molly McGrath-1-Design Crush

Paper, neon, and Molly McGrath – an intoxicating combination to be sure. San Francisco-based McGrath’s former training as an architect is evident within her precise laser cut pieces. You can purchase Anemone or Sekar at LEIF. Now excuse me while I grab my Xacto knife and some paper!

Who would have ever thought the daily newspaper and a super sharp X-acto knife would yield results this beautiful? Myriam Dion, that’s who. These intricately cut works of art prove that there’s more beauty in the everyday than we can ever hope to see. (via The Jealous Curator)

Nathalie Boutté

Nathalie Boutté-1-Design Crush

Nathalie Boutté‘s paper art is one of those things I look at and wish that I had created. Nathalie builds up each collage piece with layer after layer of long, narrow strips of paper that ultimately end up creating a feathered effect that’s forever evolving through movement.

Jozef Mvra’s Masks

Jozef Mvra-1-Design Crush

I’ve been admiring Jozef Mvra’s mask creations from afar for sometime. According to Jozef, they’re created in cardboard in a primitive manner because their primary intention is fun via an exploration of identity. Looks like a blast to me, which one would you choose?
