Artifact Uprising Float Frames
I’ve had the same piece of art hanging at the top of my stairs for nearly two years and have been wanting to change things up. I actually have a folder on my desktop of my favorite photos I’ve taken, with the hope that one day I’ll print and frame them as art. So when Artifact Uprising reached out about their brand new floating frames I was ready, willing, and completely prepared.
After some hemming and hawing I narrowed it down to this shot of a group of surfboard blanks that I snapped in San Diego a few years back. It’s a really muted photo and I love that it blends in with the wall color so well. I uploaded my iPhone image to Artifact Uprising and a week or so later a very safely packaged framed print was on my doorstep. (A huge deal, I’ve had several pieces show up broken from other companies.)
After watching a video and using the handy template they sent along to hang the float frame we were all set. So sleek, right?! The frame grade acrylic is thick without weighing a ton like glass, and the brass-coated bolts give the entire piece such a polished look. Such an impact!

Ridges
If you love geometry and color Ridge is for you. The range of wall mounted shelves are available in both portrait and landscape, while the coordinating trays are made from the knocked out pieces of metal. The shelves are powder coated in different colors on each side – sulfur yellow and pure white – while the trays are signal blue and dark blue or tomatoe red and wine red.

To Wallpaper or Not To Wallpaper
In my first house the guest room featured a wall of patterned navy blue wallpaper behind the bed’s headboard that I loved. But one short year after completing the room I picked up and moved halfway across the country, and the walls in the 1900 house are paperless. Having been in the space for nearly two years I’m beginning to see things in a different light, and considering an accent wall here and there. The second floor bath or perhaps a wall in the dining room, maybe something subtle or something bold that knocks your socks off the moment you walk into the room. Here are ten wallpapers I’ve got my eye on – thoughts?

Askov Finlayson x Hygge & West
Menswear label Askov Finlayson has teamed up with home goods company Hygge & West for a limited edition line of wallpaper. The collection consists of two designs, both inspired by Askov Finlayson founder, Eric Dayton’s, childhood memories of winter in Minnesota. The two designs are available in four colors, and every sheet is hand-screen-printed in the U.S.A. I love the organic look of both and would say this collaboration is quite the success!

For the Record
Album art is completely underrated, but in this day and age where vinyl is regaining a foothold in the music industry things may just be changing. Amsterdam-based design studio Spitsberg has designed a frame allowing you to show off your collection – For the Record. Simple slide your album covers in to create instant art.
