I’m a true believer in the idea that when you pay for a product you pay for the experience it will provide you. Which brings us to Alice Chocolate and the sweet, matchbox-like package it arrives in and the cigar-like wands of pure chocolate held within. Lovely, lovely packaging.
Dorset Cereals is a prime example of how packaging can turn what would normally be plain ol’ nuts and berries into something fantastic that you want sitting in your kitchen.

Think of First Blush juices as a sort of wine of the grape juice world – including Merlot, Cabernet and Chardonnay varieties. Each varietal grape juice has a unique and dynamic concentration of flavors. All juices are 100% natural with no added sugar and no preservatives. Might be a nice option for a dinner party for those who prefer something a little less, ahem, alcoholic.
In the summer I love to break out the grill. But the barby is one of those areas that I don’t exactly, well, excel. I inevitably forget to marinate the meat ahead of time and wind up with a flavorless dinner. That’s where Seasoned Skewers come in the picture. Since the actual skewers hold the flavor, all you have to do is pop some cubed meat and veggies on or even stick a few through a larger piece of meat. Voila, a yummy meal. If I were a whisky drinkin’ kinda gal I’d be rushing out to buy a bottle from Douglas Laing and Co. Check out those old-school, pharmaceutical-looking labels and bottles! Actually, I think I could be a girl-who-buys-whisky-just-for-the-bottle for these.
The So Chic Wines site is in french. And I don’t read french. But what I can tell you is that they have some lovely packaging. And that starting in September 2008 you’ll be able to purchase this insanely cool trio of samples housed in test tubes. If you need more information you’ll have to look up the online translator, which at the moment I’m too lazy to do myself!

Seattle-based DRY Soda Co. is anything but. Offering a line of all-natural, lightly sweetened sodas flavored with fruit or herb extracts and pure cane sugar, DRY is a modern alternative to mainstream sugar- or saccharine-laden drinks. Try kumquat, lavender, lemongrass or rhubarb for a kick in the taste buds. Or get really crazy and use the fizzy beverage as a mixer. Posted In food, packagingShit Happens dog poo bags strike me as both hilarious and awesome at the same time. Hilarious because, well, who wants to think about dog poo ever let alone before 9:00 am. And awesome because they combine functional design (you don’t have to get too close to the actual poo) with great packaging (check out those color choices and type). A definitive two thumbs up for taking a product that is decidedly un-fun and making it just the opposite.
Their tagline? “Shit happens – just be prepared.” Couldn’t have said it any better myself.

Kettle Chips are definitely some of the yummiest potatoes I’ve ever tasted. They’re super crunchy and you really have to take your time chewing, lest you impale the roof of your mouth with a jagged edge. Yeah, that kind of crunchy. You know what I’m talking about.
Recently Kettle Brand released their Ethnic Chips which boast some really beautiful packaging. A simple white bag with a belly band constructed out of kraft paper and printed with colorful, eye-popping inks. Really, really lovely design.
